    Abstract: A pile forming apparatus allowing use of a driving motor of small capacity for effectuating terry motion while assuring high quality for manufactured pile fabric includes a ball screw constituting an output shaft of the driving motor with which driven nuts threadedly engage. One driven nut is operatively connected to a first arm of a displacement-direction change-over lever by a link. Displacement of the driven nuts caused by rotation of the ball screw is transmitted to an expansion bar via the link, the change-over lever, a first rod, an intermediate lever, a second rod and a supporting lever to displace the cloth fell of the pile woven fabric.

    Abstract: A full roll transferred from a cloth wind-up position in a weaving machine to a temporary full-roll storage position on a transfer carriage is prevented from rotation by meshing with a gear mounted stationarily. The transfer carriage is equipped with empty roll supporting arms and cutter supporting arms having free ends at which a cloth cutting mechanism is supported. An empty roll is supported by a holding device mounted at free ends of the empty roll supporting arms so as to be rotated by an empty roll driving motor. Owing to rotation of the empty roll, tension is applied to a cloth between the full roll and the empty roll so that it is cut by the cloth cutting mechanism in a tensioned stationary state.

    Abstract: A loom supervising system including a supervising computer adapted to fetch the weaving information including the information concerning warp or weft breakage or weft insertion errors for each of a plurality of looms and a multiplexor type relaying unit provided on a signal line interconnecting the supervising computer and the looms. To this relaying unit is connected a transport car control board of an unmanned transport car adapted for transporting exchange components such as the warp beam or the cloth roll. Prescribed command signals from the control board of the transport car are transmitted to a deceleration stop command device provided at each loom by way of the relaying unit and the monitoring signal line.

    Abstract: In a fluid jet loom in general, the loom operation is not stopped immediately after detection of the defective weft yarn, resulting unavoidably in the insertion of the next weft yarn. In this regard, the present invention provides a method for disposal of the defective weft yarn in a fluid jet loom which consists in temporarily disabling the weft yarn cutting function of a weft yarn cutter provided to the weft yarn inserting nozzle upon detection of defective weft yarn insertion, and subsequently stopping the loom operation.

    Abstract: A weft yarn guide of an air jet loom comprises a base portion capable of being connected to a sley, a pair of guide members which are connected to the upper end of the base portion and which are forked to form a weft inserting opening therebetween, a base fluid passage formed within the base portion, and a plurality of fluid blowing holes formed on the upper portions of the guide members and communicated with the base fluid passage. The weft yarn guide further comprises a branching wall projected from the upper inner wall of the base fluid passage in order to branch air flow fed from the base passage into two flows, and a pair of branch passages formed within the guide members in order to communicate the base fluid passage with the fluid blowing holes, whereby the air flow is smoothly branched without causing substantial turbulence.

    Abstract: A weft yarn detector for detecting weft yarn inserted into a weft yarn guide passage formed by a series of weft yarn guide members mounted on a slay of a loom is disclosed. The detector comprises a weft yarn detecting body with two supporting portions disposed opposite to each other on the opposite sides of the weft yarn guide passage, and weft yarn detecting elements supported by the two supporting portions. According to this invention, the detector is characterized by a flexible, thin, printed-wiring plate attached to the weft yarn detecting body and electrically connecting the weft yarn detecting elements to an external control system.

    Abstract: A loom comprises: a machine frame; heald frames for supporting ground heddles of warps; and a device for forming a selvedge. The device for forming a selvedge includes: a rotatable member which is rotated by a power transmitting mechanism; and a pair of selvedge yarn guides which are attached to said rotatable member and which are utilized to withdraw the selvedge yarns. The device for forming a selvedge is disposed at the side of the machine frame and behind the heald frames. The selvedge yarns are open and closed in synchronism with the shedding motion of the warps and are formed into a selvedge by twisting the selvedge yarns at every weaving. The device for forming a selvedge is adjustable in a lengthwise and vertical direction of the machine frame.

    Abstract: A shuttleless loom incorporating a weft detecting device according to this invention includes a reed, and a number of guide plates arranged in spaced relationship along the reed, the guide plates being provided with aligned apertures to form a guide passage through which a weft is passed when it is inserted into a shed of warps. In order to detect whether or not the weft has been inserted into the shed, the weft detection device is provided with a photoelectric detecting unit disposed between the adjacent guide plates so as to be movable therewith. The detecting unit emits and receives a light beam advancing along a path which extends between the adjacent guide plates and across a path of the weft along which it moves relative to the guide plates after it has been passed through the guide passage.
