  • Publication number: 20040008176
Abstract: A brightness control device sufficiently reduces lateral stripes that are caused by brightness control and occur on a display screen of a display device. The brightness control device 3 controls brightness on the display screen 2a in a the display device 2 by controlling the duty ratio of the PWM signal to be output to the lighting device 4, and wherein the frequency of the PWM signal is controlled in response to the vertical synchronization frequency of an image signal inputted to the display device 2. Accordingly, the frequency of the brightness control signal is not an integral multiple of the vertical synchronization frequency of an image signal. Thus, the dimmer control stripes that appear on the display screen 2a and which are caused by the switching noise of the inverter occurring synchronously with the rise and fall of the PWM signal are avoided.

  • Patent number: 5233424
Abstract: In a television receiving apparatus, the output step of a video IF circuit or a video amplifying circuit in the rear step is formed by using an NPN transistor amplifying circuit and PNP transistor amplifying circuit and both transistor amplifying circuits are fed with as an input a video signal of the same polarity and are fed with as a power source a voltage from the same power source circuit as of the tuner and video IF circuit.

  • Patent number: 4989151
Abstract: A navigation apparatus, which is carried on a vehicle, computes the present positions of the vehicle by using the data collected by various types of sensors, and visually presents the computed present positions on a display. An absolute position data membory stores the surveyed data of the previously surveyed reference points in correspondence with the reference points. A key input device generates a passing signal indicating that the vehicle has actually passed on the the reference points. is response to the operationm of a matching key. When receiving the passing signal, a CPU compares the survey data of the reference points stored in the map data storing means with the present position data calculated by using the data derived from the sensors, selects the surveyed data of a reference point of which surveyed data provides the smallest difference between the reference point and the present position data, and corrects the present position data so that is becomes the selected surveyed data.

  • Patent number: 4814882
Abstract: A composite video signal from a television tuner which performs a diversity function is input to a demodulator which performs signal processing such as reproduction of a DC component through clamping of the pedestal level and a color demodulation. The composite video signal is also input to a deflection circuit which produces a horizontal sync pulse and a vertical blanking pulse from the received composite video signal. The horizontal sync pulse from the deflection circuit is supplied to a phase shifter/switching circuit which generates a clamp pulse. The clamp pulse is supplied to the demodulator and used for the pedestal clamping operation. The phase shifter/switching circuit also receives the vertical blanking pulse from the deflection circuit to stop the pedestal clamping operation of the demodulator. That is, the generation of the clamp pulse is stopped while the vertical blanking pulse is input to the phase shifter/switching circuit.
