  • Patent number: 4337686
Abstract: A hydraulic force multiplying device has a housing having an inlet port connected to a source of hydraulic pressure and an outlet port, an input rod and an output rod, one end of each of the input and output rod being slidably connected with one another within the housing, a free piston slidably disposed between the outer circumference of the input rod and the inner wall of the housing and dividing the interior of the housing into an inlet side oil chamber and an outlet side oil chamber, the free piston being associated with the output rod, a passage formed in the input rod for connecting the two oil chambers, and a valve for controlling oil flow in the passage. The valve consists of a valve member and a valve seat provided respectively on either the input or the output rod and the other of the input and output rods. The valve is formed to allow the relative movement between the input and output rods in the valve closing direction with the valve member engaging with the valve seat.

  • Patent number: 4017126
Abstract: A vehicle anti-skid braking device has a housing, a first normally open valve disposed in the housing for controlling fluid flow through a first passage which is connected to a master cylinder and to a brake cylinder of a wheel of the vehicle, a second passage formed in the housing for receiving hydraulic fluid from a pump driven by the rotational force of the wheel, a first piston slidably disposed in a bore for actuating the first valve, a second piston slidably disposed in the second passage for cooperating with the first piston so as to cut off the major portion of hydraulic fluid supplied from the pump, and a third valve disposed in a third passage parallel with respect to the second passage for controlling the remaining portion of hydraulic fluid flow.

  • Patent number: 3994533
Abstract: A hydraulic brake pressure control valve includes a first pressure chamber connectable with a source of hydraulic pressure such as a master cylinder, a second pressure chamber connectable with a rear wheel brake cylinder, a fluid passage for communicating the pressure chambers with each other, and an inertia valve for preventing communication through the fluid passage when deceleration of the vehicle exceeds a predetermined value. The control valve further includes a plunger slidably disposed in a bore, the opposite ends of which are exposed to hydraulic pressure in the first and second pressure chambers respectively. A piston is slidably disposed in a bore and has one end which is exposed to hydraulic pressure in the first pressure chamber and another end which is exposed to atmospheric pressure or gas pressure.

  • Patent number: 3969000
Abstract: A brake hydraulic pressure control valve adapted for use between two independent braking circuits in a dual hydraulic braking system of a vehicle. The valve includes a housing, two liquid passages provided in the housing and each having one end connected to a source of hydraulic pressure and the other end connected to a brake cylinder. Two valve members are slidably disposed in a bore of the housing, inner ends of which oppose each other, and outer ends of which are exposed to one of the liquid passages, and each being provided with a valve for controlling liquid flow in the one liquid passage. A spring is disposed between the opposed inner ends of the valve members so as to act on the members simultaneously, whereby braking pressure can be balanced.
