  • Patent number: 9885417
Abstract: Provided is a piston ring capable of maintaining an excellent effect of preventing aluminum cohesion in a high output engine over a long period of time. At least one of the upper, lower, and side faces of the piston ring is coated with a silica-based coating in which hard nanoparticles are dispersed. The coating has a Martens hardness of 1,000 to 8,000 N/mm2. As the hard nanoparticles, carbon nanoparticles, nanodiamond particles, carbon nanotubes, or carbon nanofibers are used. To the coating, resin particles of a fluorine-based resin or a polyether-based resin may be added.

  • Publication number: 20140225329
Abstract: [OBJECT] To provide a piston ring which, when used in a high-output engine, can sustain an excellent effect of suppressing aluminum adhesion, over a long period. [SOLUTION MEANS] Either or both the upper and lower sides of the piston ring are covered with a resin-based film containing a fibrous filler with a mean fiber diameter of 50 to 500 nm and an aspect ratio of 30 to 500. The fibrous filler content is 0.5 to 10 vol % with respect to the total resin-based film. Also, the fibrous filler used is at least one type from among carbon fibers, silica fibers and boron nitride fibers.

  • Publication number: 20100140880
Abstract: A piston ring mounted in the ring groove of an aluminum alloy piston does not cause aluminum adhesion during the long-term use. The piston ring includes a resin film deposited on at least one of an upper face and a lower face. The resin film contains from 0.5 to 20% by volume of carbon black particles and from 3 to 30% by volume of solid lubricant particles with respect to the total volume of the resin film. The carbon black particles preferably contain one or both of graphitized carbon black particles and composite graphite black particles.

  • Patent number: 5455235
Abstract: The present invention provides a food composition for inhibiting the formation of an intestinal putrefactive product, containing lactosucrose as an effective component. This food composition is low in calorific value because the lactosucrose is indigestible, and can decrease the amount of an putrefactive product to be generated in intestines. Accordingly, this food composition effectively prevents the outbreak of a variety of cancers for which the putrefactive product might serve as a promoter.
