  • Patent number: 8393374
Abstract: A composite sheet comprising an upper layer 2 and a lower layer 3 both made of a substantially inextensible sheet which are partially bonded to each other at a large number of joints 4. The upper layer 2 forms a large number of outward hollow projections 5 in the area other than the joints 4. The projections 5 and the joints 4 are arranged such that the projections and the joints alternate in one direction to make lines and that the projections in each of the lines are out of alignment with the projections in the adjacent lines.

  • Patent number: 6732778
Abstract: A method for manufacturing an absorbent article comprising the steps of continuously feeding out a long, extensible, continuous member (5) from a predetermined position, cutting the continuous member (5) into lengths (P1) each equivalent to a length of one sheet of the absorbent article at a predetermined position, and fixedly arranging the cut continuous member at a predetermined position of the absorbent article, wherein a predetermined pattern is preliminarily printed on the continuous member (5) at a printing pitch shorter than the cutting length (P1) of the continuous member, and the speed for feeding out is controlled such that the predetermined pattern is located at a predetermined part of the cut continuous member, thereby obtaining the absorbent article in which the predetermined pattern is arranged at a predetermined position.

  • Patent number: 6306122
Abstract: A disposable wearing article including a liquid-permeable topsheet, an outermost layer sheet located on an outer surface of the disposable wearing article, and a liquid retentive absorbent member, a waist-surrounding elastic member being arranged at a waist-surrounding portion, wherein the waist-surrounding elastic member is fixed to other members than the outermost layer sheet in an expanded state to thereby form gathers inwardly of the outermost layer sheet, a non-bonding area is provided between the waist-surrounding elastic member and the outermost layer sheet, and no gathers are formed on an outer surface of the waist-surrounding portion.

  • Patent number: 5836931
Abstract: A shorts type disposable diaper includes an absorptive body having a liquid permeable topsheet, a liquid impermeable backsheet, and an absorber interposed between the topsheet and the backsheet. The absorptive body is divided into a stomach side portion, an under-crotch portion, and a back side portion, substantially continuous elastically expansible members being disposed over entire peripheral edge portions of a waist opening and a pair of leg openings which are formed by fixedly connecting confronting opposite side portions between the stomach side portion and the back side portion. The absorber is 8 mm or less in thickness and 100 mm or more in width in the under-crotch portion, and the distance from a side edge of the under-crotch portion of the absorber to the elastically expansible members disposed in the leg opening is 15 mm or more.
