    Abstract: A service authentication system includes a room entrance/exit manager that manages locations of users, a login manager or remote login manager that manages PC login, an authenticator that performs user authentication, a substitute authenticator that performs various authentications in an integrated manner, and a service management server that stores user authentication information. When the user has requested authentication from the authenticator, the authenticator requests authentication from the substitute authenticator, which then obtains room entrance/exit information from the entrance/exit manager and authentication information from the service management server and authenticates them based on the obtained information.

    Abstract: In network systems which consist of global network and local network, network device 1 is connected to the global network, and network device 3 is connected to the local network, and network device 2 is connected to both networks. When a network device 1 requests a network device 3 to update a program, a network device 2 which controls the network device 3 temporarily stores the update request and then issues the update request to the network device 3. Upon receiving the update request, the network device 3 shuts down itself and updates the program if the tasks currently running on the network device itself is not important ones. The network device 3, when turned on, also acquires the update request that has been temporarily stored by the network device 2.

    Abstract: In a system for easily realizing security in a homenetwork by preventing communication from being made with a terminal illegally connected to the homenetwork, an information appliance and a key management server are connected to a homenetwork via network connector. By inserting an authentication tag into the information appliance, authentication with the key management server is performed and a public encryption key for allowing communication to be made with another information appliance connected to the homenetwork is obtained, thereby enabling safe communication to be made in the homenetwork.
