    Abstract: A fluid coupling includes a socket with a socket main body, a fixed valve, a guide which is engaged with the fixed valve and biased to be pressed against an inner surface of the socket main body, and a guide spring which biases the guide, and a plug with a plug main body, a movable valve, a valve spring, and a valve holder which supports the movable valve and the valve spring. When the plug is inserted into the socket, the guide moves rearward against a biasing force of the guide spring to connect a flow path between the plug and the socket. A fitted portion, which is fitted into the distal end of the plug, is disposed at the end portion of the guide. First seal members are disposed between the fitted portion and a distal end of the plug.

When the plug (51) is inserted into the socket (11), the guide (30) moves rearward against a biasing force of the spring (49) so as to connect a flow path between the plug (51) and the socket (11). A fitted portion (35), which is fitted into the distal end of the plug (51), is disposed at the end portion of the guide (30).

This fluid coupling further includes conical members (32, 51) which form a conical external shape along a line connecting the outside diameter portion of the valve (33) and the outside diameter portion of the valve holder (31) when the valve (33) of the plug (1) and the valve (33) of the socket (2) make contact with each other, so that the springs (32) are compressed between the valve (33) and the valve holder (31).

    Abstract: A portable electric battery operated hair curler having a handle detachable from a curling barrel provided with an electric heating element. The handle contains rechargeable batteries and a recharger, and has a first set of electrical connectors at its front end for mating with a set of electrical connectors at the back end of the curling barrel. The handle further includes a second pivotally mounted electrical connection means in the front end of the handle connected to the battery charger for connecting the charger to an external power source. The pivoted second connection is accessible for use only when the barrel is detached from the handle and is then movable from a stored position in the handle to a position projecting from one side of the handle for connection to the external power source.

    Abstract: An electric hair curler comprises a handle and a barrel connected thereto for winding thereabout the hair. The barrel is provided with an electric heater for curling the hair wound on the barrel. The heater includes a plurality of resistor elements in the form of strips extending along the length of the barrel in generally parallel relationship with one another and being electrically connected in series by a corresponding number of bridging segments. The heater thus constructed is mounted on the barrel with the resistor elements thereof being exposed on the outer surface of the barrel in circumferentially spaced relationship with one another around the barrel, so that each of the resistor elements is in direct heat transfer contact with the hair to be wound on the barrel, thus greatly reducing the heat loss to assure effective heat transfer from the heater to the hair.

    Abstract: An electrically heated hair curling brush includes a generally cylindrical elongated handle having an elongated, thermally non-conductive brush support rotatably mounted within the handle and axially extending therefrom. An electric PTC heating element is housed within a brush cylinder non-rotatably mounted on the axially extending portion of the brush support. An elastically deformable elliptical locking ring within the handle surrounds the brush support and has a protrusion on the inner surface of each of its long sides engageable in recesses formed in the confronting surface of the brush support to lock the handle and brush support together so as to prevent relative rotation therebetween. A manually depressible button on one of the short sides of the locking ring projects through an opening in the handle.

    Abstract: A hair curler comprising an elongated substantially hollow hair bobbin includes a PTC heating element having a temperature self-controlling function housed within the hair bobbin. A pair of opposed cup-shaped generally cylindrical members are housed within the bobbin with each cylindrical member including a bottom and a side wall. The heating element is held between the opposed bottoms of the cup-shaped members. Each of the bottoms of the cup-shaped members defines an electrode plate arranged in contact with a respective side of the heating element for transmitting electricity to the heating element and conducting heat from the heating element to the side wall of the respective member. The side wall of each member defines conductors for transmitting the heat to the ends of the hair bobbin. A power supplying pin includes first and second power supplying terminals which are connected to a respective one of the electrode plates.

    Abstract: A facial treatment device wherein an air pumping means and a rotary member are driven by a rotary power source so as to perform skin cleaning and massaging actions with sucking and rotary functions through a sucking or rotary attachment. A stationary shaft having an axial hole is provided in the device to have an end of the hole communicated with air-intake side of the pumping means and the other end exposed to the exterior, and the rotary member is rotatably supported coaxially with the stationary shaft. The sucking attachment is mounted to the stationary shaft at said the other end of its axial hole, whereas the rotary attachment is mounted, in place of the sucking attachment, to the rotary member made accessible thereto on the same side with said end of the stationary shaft to which the sucking attachment is mounted. Preferably, the common axis of the stationary shaft and rotary member is disposed to intersect at right angles the axis of rotary output shaft of the power source.
