  • Patent number: 8709539
Abstract: A process and an apparatus for producing a composite material utilize a rotatable hollow body that is inclined with an upstream side being higher than a downstream side. A reaction zone is defined within an elongated chamber in the hollow body. Protrusions inwardly extend from an inner peripheral wall of the hollow body adjacent to the reaction zone. Base material is input into the chamber via a base material introduction port and a carbon source vapor is input into the chamber via a carbon source supply port. A heater heats the reaction zone to a temperature at which carbon nanotubes form on the base material from the carbon source vapor. The protrusions catch base material disposed on the inner peripheral wall of the hollow body when the hollow body rotates and then drop the base material through the reaction zone so that the base material contacts the carbon source vapor.

  • Publication number: 20130100472
Abstract: An image forming system includes plural image forming devices each of which forms an image corresponding to image data. Each image forming device includes a memory, a determining unit, a selecting unit, a specifying unit, and a transferring unit. The memory stores one or more pieces of image data. The determining unit determines whether or not usage of the memory is larger than a threshold. The selecting unit selects, if the determining unit determines that usage of the memory is larger than the threshold, a piece of image data to be transferred from among the pieces of image data stored in the memory. The specifying unit specifies a specific image forming device to which the selected piece of image data is to be transferred among the other image forming devices. The transferring unit transfers the selected piece of image data to the specific image forming device.

  • Publication number: 20090313340
Abstract: A data processing system includes a memory, a position information generation unit, a position information sending unit and an electronic data deletion unit. The memory stores electronic data. The position information generation unit generates position information of the electronic data to acquire the electronic data which is stored in the memory through a communication line. The position information sending unit sends the position information to users of the electronic data through the communication line. The electronic data deletion unit deletes the electronic data from the memory when the electronic data are sent to all of the users to which the position information generated by the position information generation unit is sent.

  • Patent number: 7324298
Abstract: In an electronic appliance, accelerations in X-direction, in Y-direction that is orthogonal relative to the X-direction and in Z-direction that is orthogonal relative to both the X-direction and the Y-direction are synthesized and the size of the synthetic acceleration vector formed by synthesizing the accelerations is detected, associated with the clock time of the detection and stored in a synthetic acceleration memory (4). A fall candidate is detected when the size of the synthetic acceleration vector is stabilized at a value close to a for a predetermined time period and clock time T1 that is associated with the synthetic acceleration vector that has a size equal to predetermined value b and closest to the clock time T1 when the fall candidate is detected is determined by retrieving the sizes of the synthetic acceleration vectors stored in the synthetic acceleration memory (4).

  • Patent number: 7237324
Abstract: A multiple chip resistor is manufactured in the following method. First electrode layers are formed on a first surface of a substrate. Resistor elements electrically connected to the first electrode layers, respectively, are formed on the first surface of the substrate. Slits are formed in the substrate for separating the first electrode layers. Edge electrodes connected to the first electrode layers at the edges of the slits, respectively, are formed on respective edges at the slits of the substrate. The substrate is divided at the slits into strip substrates. Portions of the edge electrodes are removed for electrically isolating the resistor elements from each other. The method provides the edge electrodes on each strip substrate with an improved dimensional accuracy, hence allowing the edge electrodes to be isolated electrically from each other. Consequently, the multiple chip resistor is prevented from being mounted defectively when the resistor is surface-mounted.

  • Patent number: 4276275
Abstract: A process for preparing ultrafine carbide powder of silicon or titanium and other carbide which are used as refractory materials comprises the steps of passing electric current to a carbon member held in contact with a material such as silicon in a vacuum vessel into which an inert gas at a desired pressure is introduced and collecting a carbide powder of the material fuming into the gas as a result of a high-temperature reaction between the material and carbon member in contact, thus producing carbide powder of ultrafine particles and of high-purity with high efficiency. A preheater facilitates the passing of electricity through the material by reducing the resistance thereof and leads to efficient preparation of the ultrafine carbide powder.
