  • Publication number: 20040203414
Abstract: A wearable electronic device is offered in which sound radiation and sound reception operations of an electroacoustic converter are performed reliably. The wearable electronic device can be a personal digital assistant (PDA) having an enclosure portion that is worn on a user's wrist in use. The electroacoustic converter is incorporated in the enclosure portion. Sound radiation and reception holes extending through the wall of the enclosure portion are formed between the inner surface and the outer surface of the enclosure portion. The inner surface surrounds the converter, while the outer surface makes contact with the user's wrist when the device is worn. The enclosure portion has recessed or convex portions on or in portions of the outer surface around the openings of the sound radiation and reception holes to form acoustic signal propagation paths.

  • Patent number: 6757390
Abstract: To provide a wristwatch type wireless telephone improved in terms of handling in that there is no need to change the holding state of the wristwatch type wireless telephone when the wristwatch type wireless telephone is used for telephone conversation by being removed from an arm and held in a hand. In a wristwatch type wireless telephone carried by being worn on an arm by binding with an arm band, a sound radiating hole of a mouthpiece and a sound receiving hole of an ear piece are formed in a surface at a back surface, at the arm side in a state of being worn on an arm.

  • Patent number: 6748631
Abstract: To provide a wrist mounting type electronic apparatus facilitating attachment and detachment thereof. The wrist mounting type electronic apparatus is constituted by a main body bent substantially in an L-like shape and straps comprising a hard material. An inserting portion is provided at a front end of the strap on one side and is inserted into an inserted portion of the pivotable strap on other side. The inserted portion is penetrated with a bar member which is engaged with a small diameter hole of the inserting portion. Thereby, the wrist mounting type electronic apparatus can be mounted to the wrist. A hinge of the strap is provided with a coil spring and a state of opening the strap relative to a cabinet of the main body is maintained so far as the strap is not engaged.

  • Patent number: 6654474
Abstract: The present invention provides an arm-wear-type communication device for protecting a speaker and the like. In an arm-wear-type communication device, a speaker is equipped on a housing that is a portion fitting to an ear. After this speaker is matched into a cavity of the housing, the speaker is embedded by a housing cover. After the speaker is installed, a sound opening equipped for connecting the inside of the housing with the outside of the housing is equipped by boring as a sound emitting opening on the housing cover. An air chamber formed by the housing cover is equipped immediately in front of a sound emitting portion of the speaker. Further, on the back surface of the housing cover, a waterproof sheet is stuck to protect infiltration of rain, sweat or the like into the speaker.

  • Publication number: 20020089193
Abstract: When a slide piece is fitted to a slide groove, the slide piece can be slid. When a latch is caught by recesses, a position of the slide piece in the slide groove is stabilized. Since the slide groove is provided with a plurality of the recesses at constant intervals, among the recesses, the recess at a most suitable position is selected and the latch is caught by the recess. The slide piece is integral with the inserting portion of a strap and therefore, the position of the slide piece is determined so as to adjust a length of the strap around the wrist. Further, the latch is only urged by a spring and the recess is not so deep as to engage the latch and therefore, when the slide piece is pushed or pulled by exerting force, the position of the slide piece can also be changed.
