Patent number: 7770486Abstract: In an automatic transmission, a shift lever is operable to move to one of a plurality of shift positions corresponding to ranges established as selectable options. The plurality of shift positions are each configured as one of a momentary position allowing the shift lever to automatically return to a home position and a retention position allowing the shift lever to be held therein. A return mechanism for causing the shift lever held in the retention position to return to the home position is provided. The return mechanism is enabled on one of conditions that the parking switch be turned on and that an ignition switch be turned off. In a manual transmission, a return mechanism for causing the shift lever held in a gear stage to return to a home position is provided, and the return mechanism is enabled on condition that an ignition switch be turned off.Type: GrantFiled: August 31, 2005Date of Patent: August 10, 2010Assignee: Honda Motor Co., Ltd.Inventors: Akio Morita, Yasushi Ohkawa, Yoshiharu Saito, Tomohiro Sakuraba, Atsushi Komatsu, Kotaro Hiramine, Shusaku Noguchi, Yoshinori Furusawa, Makirou Ishimoto

Patent number: 7603924Abstract: A control device 5 for an automatic transmission apparatus 2 has an automatic gearshift mode in which the gear of the automatic transmission 2 is automatically controlled by setting the shift position of a shift device 3 in one of forward travel positions including a first and a second forward position. The control device 5 also has a manual gearshift mode changing the gear one step by one step by an operating unit 4 other than the shift device 3 while maintaining the shift position set in the forward position 33. The manual gearshift mode includes a first manual mode when the shift position of the shift device 3 is set in a first forward position, and a second manual mode when the shift position is set in a second forward position. A control pattern of the first manual mode differs from that in the second manual mode.Type: GrantFiled: March 1, 2007Date of Patent: October 20, 2009Assignee: Honda Motor Co., Ltd.Inventors: Kiyohiro Mandou, Yoshinori Furusawa

Patent number: 6273466Abstract: A speed change shift device 5 comprises a device main body 7 and a shift lever 9 protruding from the device main body 7. An impact energy absorption structure for the device 5 is constructed such that the device main body 7 is fixed to vehicle body side brackets 4 via the impact energy absorption body A. The impact energy absorption body A is broken by an impact energy F applied to the device 5, whereby the device 5 is allowed to move in an impact energy applied direction.Type: GrantFiled: November 19, 1999Date of Patent: August 14, 2001Assignee: Honda Giken Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Hiroyoshi Suzuki, Kazutaka Maehara, Yoshinori Furusawa, Kunihiro Koike, Yuji Yoshida

Patent number: 5778745Abstract: With a device for reciprocating a cutting tool in small steps, the cutting tool is reciprocated in small steps in such a way that a feed mark (track of the cutting tool on the workpiece) is inverted each time the workpiece makes a round, by which the chip is varied in width and cut at a track crossing portion during the machining. Thus, chips are broken into short pieces so that the cutting efficiency and the cutting quality are improved and that the chip disposal is facilitated. Moreover, a safe turning process can be achieved.Type: GrantFiled: February 20, 1997Date of Patent: July 14, 1998Assignee: Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd.Inventors: Yoshinori Furusawa, Yoshihiro Ikemoto, Koji Fujimoto, Koji Nakagawa, Toshifumi Miyake, Toshikazu Shogase

Patent number: 5676860Abstract: In an electric discharge machine and machining method for processing an object through electric discharge by impressing a voltage between a processing electrode and the object, the processing electrode and object are relatively vibrated by a vibrating part using a piezoelectric element while a gap between the processing electrode and object is properly retained at all times. The electric discharge is accelerated when the gap is small, whereas the insulated state is maintained when the gap is large. This kind of condition is stably produced in accordance with a frequency of the vibration. If the frequency is set in the range of 50-500 Hz, a shortcircuit or an arc state is less likely to occur. The vibration is effective to quickly discharge processing debris at the discharging gap.Type: GrantFiled: October 13, 1995Date of Patent: October 14, 1997Assignee: Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd.Inventors: Masahiro Muro, Takeshi Masaki, Yoshihiro Ikemoto, Yoshinori Furusawa
