  • Patent number: 6594032
Abstract: A facsimile apparatus and electronic mail (e-mail) server capable of transmitting e-mails containing therein facsimile image data while reducing complexities. In the facsimile apparatus, when a user manually operates an “E-mail” button while letting more than one paper document for transmission be inserted into a document tray, the apparatus visually displays a destination address along with a prompt message requesting the user to input mail text data to be delivered. After the user enters such mail text together with the address and then presses a “Send” button, the apparatus operates to optically read for recognition the document as presently set in the document tray to produce corresponding graphic image information of such document (fax data), which will then be sent forth toward the e-mail server along with the destination address and text data. It becomes possible to readily perform e-mail transmission of both the text data and fax data at a time.

  • Publication number: 20020051220
Abstract: The disclosed facsimile apparatus stores data in a memory card through a communication line, and transfers image and other data to other terminal, image processing device, display unit or the like at a high picture quality through the memory card. A data memory unit stores the received data. A memory card input and output unit writes data into the memory card, and reads data from the memory card. The received data is stored in a data memory unit, and data reception information is displayed in a display unit. The user manipulates an input selector to select the data to be stored in the memory card from the data stored in the data memory unit and transfers to the memory card. Moreover, if necessary, the copyright is protected.

  • Patent number: 5481373
Abstract: In a facsimile apparatus with an external telephone unit connected thereto or in a telephone terminal apparatus having telephone and facsimile communication functions, when a particular code signal is sent through a telephone line during a telephone communication being effected, a facsimile communication is held ineffective. Accordingly, even when a particular situation occurs, which otherwise causes switching from the telephone communication to the facsimile communication, the telephone communication is held effective once the particular code signal is detected.
