  • Publication number: 20010004402
Abstract: The present invention uses colors for displaying the results of information retrieval or analysis of pieces of input information so as to allow a user to visually and objectively understand the difference between the pieces of input information and a series of changes. An information comparison display apparatus, according to the present invention, comprises a unit for receiving pieces of input information; a unit for comparing the pieces of input information based on predetermined comparison criteria, and for determining characteristic elements to be assigned colors; a unit for assigning colors to the pieces of input information based on the results of comparison; and a unit for outputting the information, to which the colors have been assigned, to the outside.

  • Patent number: 5284284
Abstract: A method of guiding a strip (S) of material, e.g. steel, comprises feeding the strip between a pair of spaced guide members (15), through pinch rolls (13) and optionally on to a winder (12) to be coiled. When the strip passes the upstream end of the guide members (15), in a first stage of the method, the members are moved inwardly to narrow the gap between them to a predetermined size greater than the width of the strip. When the leading end of the strip enters the pinch rolls (13), in a second stage of the method, the members move together to further narrow the gap between them. The second stage may, be governed in response to the output from sensors (17, 18) which detect the width of the strip and the position of its centre. The positions of the guide members (15) may be continuously varied to accommodate the varying width of the strip.

  • Patent number: 4438972
Abstract: An operating mechanism for operating a sliding and tilting roof panel includes an electric motor driving the panel through a cable. A rack and a pinion are arranged so that the rack will be pushed by the cable and the pinion will be rotated by the rack. A switch operating member engages with the pinion so as to be moved according to the rotation of the pinion. Additionally, first and second limit switches are operated by the switch operating member. The first limit switch is operated to cut off the actuation of the motor when the roof is slid to its fully closed position, and the second limit switch is operated to cut off the actuation of the motor when the roof is tilted to its fully closed position, so that the roof is automatically stopped at its fully closed position when the roof is slid or tilted. The first and second limit switches are so arranged that just when the first limit switch starts to be operated the second limit switch takes a position just short of operation.

  • Patent number: 4364601
Abstract: A sun roof is arranged to descend without tilting (thus avoiding abrasion of the weather stripping) into a space below the roof panel and thereafter to slide into a housing for same. The actuating mechanism either reduces or maintains the distance between the shoes, which serve as bogies for the roof, to induce smooth sliding of the unit when moving in and out of the storage position, and applies the driving force to the leading pair of shoes to further increase the smoothness of the sliding when moving the unit from the storage housing. When tilting the sun roof for ventilation, the mechanism lifts one end and maintains the other end essentially stationary by applying a slight lift which offsets the tendency for the other end to sink due to the tilting. Again the weather strip is protected from abrasion.

  • Patent number: 4272120
Abstract: A roof panel for vehicles is disclosed, which comprises a central portion, a side portion at an angle to the central portion, and a narrow flange all down the side portion at an angle to it for welding to a gutter of the vehicle, wherein a rear part of the side portion is indented inwards, towards the central line of the vehicle. This roof panel may be used either for the type of vehicle wherein the gutter extends all the way to the rear end of the side edge of the roof, in which case the roof panel is used as it is; or for the type of vehicle wherein the gutter extends only back to a point somewhat forward of the rear end of the side edge of the roof, in which case the part of the flange behind that point is cut away, and the indented part of the side portion is welded directly to the rear pillar of the vehicle. Thus roof panels for different versions of the same model of automobile may be formed on one die, with consequent improvements in working efficiency.

  • Patent number: 4258950
Abstract: Disclosed are a roof panel and a rear fender outer panel have flange portions, respectively. The flange portions define sides of a back door receiving opening. The roof panel and the rear fender outer panel are respectively fitted with support members which are constructed and arranged to cooperate with the flange portions, a weather strip and a frame of a back door assembly to define adjacent said receiving opening a drip trough the depth of which is larger than its width. The frame of the back door assembly is constructed and arranged to have a box-like section including a bottom side and to engage the weather strip at the wall portion defining the bottom side whereby the frame is markedly reduced in width, resulting in an increased vision area of a glass panel of the back door assembly and therefore an improved visibility as well as an improved appearance.
