Abstract: A blood platelet preserving container formed of a flexible vinyl chloride resin composition containing 1 to 30% by weight, based on the total amount of vinyl chloride resin component, of cross-linked vinyl chloride resin particles having an average diameter in the range of 2 to 30 .mu.m and provided on the inner wall surface thereof with minute protuberances, and a method thereof.

Abstract: A polyvinyl chloride composition comprising component (1) 100 parts by weight of polyvinyl chloride, component (2) 0.1 to 50 parts by weight of an unsaturated aliphatic dicarboxylic dialkyl ester represented by the general formula I: R.sub.1 OCOCR.sub.3 .dbd.CR.sub.4 COOR.sub.2 wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 independently denote an alkyl group having 1 to 15 carbon atoms and R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 independently denote a group represented by the general formula II: --C.sub.n H.sub.2n+1 wherein n denotes an integer of the value of 0 to 6, and component (3) 0 to 200 parts by weight of a plasticizer which is not said component (2).

Abstract: A medical instrument, which comprises a polyvinyl chloride composition comprising component (1) 100 parts by weight of polyvinyl chloride, component (2) 0.1 to 50 parts by weight of an unsaturated aliphatic dicarboxylic dialkyl ester represented by the general formula I:R.sub.1 OCOCR.sub.3 .dbd.CR.sub.4 COOR.sub.2 (I)wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 independently denote an alkyl group having 1 to 15 carbon atoms and R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 independently denote a group represented by the general formula II: --C.sub.n H.sub.2n+1 wherein n denotes an integer of the value of 0 to 6, and component (3) 0 to 200 parts by weight of a plasticizer which is not said component (2) and which can be safely sterilized with radiation emitted from a radioactive material.

Abstract: A medical instrument is disclosed which is a shaped article of a resin composition comprising 100 parts by weight of a vinyl chloride type resin, 10 to 80 parts by weight of a di-n-alkyl ester of phthalic acid whose alkyl groups each possess 8 to 14 carbon atoms and whose numbers of carbon atoms in said alkyl groups average 9 to 14, and 1 to 18 parts by weight of a stabilizer. The medical instrument exudes only an extremely small amount of plasticizer and excels in permeability to gas.

Abstract: A medical instrument formed of a wall of flexible vinyl chloride resin and enabled to be flattened is disclosed. In this instrument, the inner wall whose opposed surfaces come into mutual contact when the instrument is flattened is made of a flexible vinyl chloride resin composition containing cross-linked vinyl chloride resin particles and, therefore, enabled to form minute protuberances and depressions in the inner wall surfaces. This instrument is useful as bags for holding medical fluids and blood.

Abstract: A radiation sterilized medical device made of a resin compound comprising 100 parts by weight of vinyl chloride resin, 0.001 to 5 parts by weight of at least one metal oxide selected from the group consisting of magnesium oxide, calcium oxide, and zinc oxide and 5 to 200 parts by weight of a dialkyl phthalate of the formula ##STR1## wherein m and n are each an integer of the value of substantially 6 to 12 and the average of m an n, (m+n)/2, is not more than 11.5. The invention also provides the method of preparing said medical device and the specified resin.
