  • Patent number: 7916393
Abstract: The optical level control device independently controls the intensities of two beams having different wavelengths that are emitted from a laser oscillator, and the optical level control device includes a wavelength-dependent wavelength plate and a polarization beam splitter. The wavelength-dependent wavelength plate functions as a half-wave plate with respect to the first light wave and as a full-wave plate with respect to the second light wave. Only the rotation angle of the polarization beam splitter about the optical axis is adjusted to set the intensity of the second light wave transmitted rectilinearly through the polarization beam splitter. The polarization beam splitter is then fixed at the adjusted angle, and the rotation angle of the wavelength plate about the optical axis is adjusted to set the intensity of the first light wave.

  • Patent number: 7408668
Abstract: Original images, large images, medium images and thumbnail images are registered with a server system. An original-image file is transmitted from a client computer to the server system. The server system converts the format of the original-image file to generate a large-image file, generates a medium-image file, in which the quantity of data is less than that of the large-image file, from the large-image file, and generates a thumbnail-image file, in which the quantity of data is less than that of the medium-image file, from the medium-image file. The original-image file, large-image file, medium-image file and thumbnail-image file are placed on one folder and stored in an image file unit. After the folder containing the original-image file, etc., has been stored in the image file unit, the user of a client computer having access privileges is capable of accessing files such as the large-image file.

  • Patent number: 7315386
Abstract: In a system in which an editing server and a plurality of client computers are capable of communicating with one another, an edited image can be generated by the plurality of client computers. When image data is transmitted from the image server to the client computer, the resolution of image data to be transmitted is reduced in correspondence with the resolution of a monitor display device connected to the client computer. Further, the number of colors of an image represented by the image data is decreased in correspondence with the number of colors which can be displayed on the monitor display device. The data quantity of the image data to be transmitted is reduced, so that time required to transmit the image data is shortened. A client computer and a main image server are connected to each other. A user image to be synthesized on a template image is read in the client computer.

Abstract: An image processing apparatus and method are disclosed. The system includes an image area designating device that designates an area to be extracted of an original image displayed on a display screen. A color changing device changes the color of an area, excluding the area to be extracted which has been designated by the image area designating device, of the displayed original image into a particular color. Additionally, a storage controlling device stories pixel data representing pixels having colors excluding the particular color obtained by the change in said color changing means in the displayed original image and coordinate data representing positions of the pixels in the displayed original image with the pixel data and the coordinate data correlated with each other.

  • Patent number: 7113674
Abstract: A fiber-type optical coupler has two optical fibers including a core on which a slanting Bragg diffraction grating is formed and a first cladding and a second cladding bordered with a boundary plane close to the core. The two optical fibers are placed by approximating the boundary plane almost contacting the core, making respective optical axes almost parallel and also making slanting directions of the respective Bragg diffraction gratings almost parallel. A wave vector of the slanting Bragg diffraction grating is located in a plane made by a normal set up on the boundary plane almost contacting the core and the optical axis of the core, and an angle_made by the wave vector and the optical axis is 0 degree <_<90 degrees. In addition, a refractive index of the second cladding is lower than that of the first cladding.

  • Publication number: 20060188728
Abstract: An electret is produced using a heat resistant electret material containing a fluorocarbon resin, in which a modified polytetrafluoroethylene is used as the fluorocarbon resin. Also, an electret including a metal member and a resin film adhered to a surface of the metal member is produced, in which the resin film contains polytetrafluoroethylene and only a surface on the metal member side of the resin film has been subjected to an adhesion-improving treatment. Thus, it is possible to provide a heat resistant electret exhibiting excellent charge retention ability at high temperatures.
