  • Patent number: 9342048
Abstract: An image-forming apparatus include an image bearer; a cleaning device to clean a surface of the image bearer; an air-blowing device to blow outside air; a temperature/humidity detector to detect temperature and humidity outside of the image-forming apparatus; and a controller to determine absolute humidity from detected temperature and humidity. Based on the absolute humidity, a waiting time from a time when a previous image-forming operation ends until the air-blowing device stops, in a stand-by state of an image-forming operation, and an unused time from a time when the air-blowing device stops until the air-blowing device resumes, the controller determines whether or not a polishing operation of the image bearer by the cleaning device after the air-blowing device is unused is executed in starting the operation of the blowing device.

  • Patent number: 6339781
Abstract: An M-sequence generator has a linear feedback shift register, a mask table, a masked operation circuit, and a control unit. The mask table stores mask data corresponding to different phase shifts. The masked operation circuit performs logic operations on the mask data and the contents of the linear feedback shift register to obtain shifted register state data. The control unit selects the mask data, and loads the shifted register state data into the linear feedback shift register. An arbitrary phase shift is produced as a sum of phase shifts for which mask data are stored in the mask table.

  • Patent number: 5073882
Abstract: A lens actuator comprises a permanent magnet which generates a magnetic flux density distribution having two peaks of equal magnitudes, the two peaks being located symmetrically on opposite sides of a center axis of the distribution and arranged in a first direction perpendicular to the center axis. A pair of first coils and a second coil are mounted on a resiliently movable support. The first coils have first coil sections which cooperate with the magnetic flux to generate force components contributing to movement of the support in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction and second coil sections which cooperate with the magnetic flux to generate force components not contributing to the movement of the support in the second direction. The second coil sections of the first coils are located respectively at the peaks of the magnetic flux density distribution. The second coil cooperates with the magnetic flux to produce a force component that moves the support in the first direction.

  • Patent number: 4978484
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of and an apparatus for manufacturing biaxially oriented film. A tubular original film which has been extruded by an extruding die is biaxially oriented by heat and air injected to the inside portion thereof being conveyed to nip rolls each having an individual circumferential speed. The temperature of heat to be applied to the film is controlled on the basis of the detected film thickness for the purpose of obtaining a uniform film thickness distribution. Furthermore, the film can be made uniform by adjusting the outer diameter of the bubble-shaped oriented film by adjusting the distance between two sets of nip rolls on the basis of the measured width of the film. In addition, when the thus-oriented film is subjected to a heat treatment, temperature of heat is arranged to be a predetermined temperature as to prevent adhesion of the films.

  • Patent number: 4869863
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for tubularly drawing a tubular raw material of thermoplastic resin. Gas for forming a bubble to heatingly draw the tubular raw material is injected into the raw material from a direction opposite to a direction for transferring the raw material through a nozzle. The raw material is cut into a plurality of web-like pieces by cutting blades provided on pinch rolls for taking up the raw material. One of the web-like pieces thus cut is separated from the others and formed with an opening into which the nozzle is inserted to inject the gas.
