    Abstract: A liquid feed containing 1.about.10% by weight of monosaccharide alone or in combination with 0.1.about.1.0% by weight of sodium bicarbonate is fed to broiler chicks, layers or breeders in the summer season, thereby preventing reduction of body weight increase rate in broiler chicks as well as reduction of egg production yield in layers or breeders, and further preventing the mortality of broiler chicks, layers or breeders caused by heatstroke. In addition a liquid feed containing 1.about.10% by weight of monosaccharide alone or in combination with 0.1.about.1.0% by weight of sodium bicarbonate is fed to layers in a later stage at an ordinary temperature or at lower temperature thereby preventing production of extra large eggs which does not meet standard requirements.

The regenerated signal is obtained by regenerating data recorded on a recording medium by a regenerating head. The detection circuit also includes a Viterbi decoder carrying out Viterbi decoding of the regenerated signal with the threshold value determined by the threshold value calculator as a constant. The threshold value calculator variably controls the threshold value using a decoded output of the Viterbi decoder and a regenerated signal corresponding to the decoded output of the Viterbi decoder.

    Abstract: A print paper detecting circuit for installation on a printer, to detect whether a print paper is supplied at a predetermined position along a paper path by using an optical sensor composed of a light emitting diode and phototransistor. The circuit detects the existence of the print paper according to the detection of light which is emitted from the light emitting diode, which is reflected from the print paper, and which arrives at the phototransistor. According to one embodiment, circuit has a current amplifier and a gain reducing circuit. The current amplifier feeds a pulse current which is greater than the normal constant current to the light emitting diode while the gain reducing circuit reduces the output of the output voltage.
