  • Patent number: 6313754
Abstract: An escape light instrument using as its light source a fluorescent lamp, mainly derives its luminescence from luminophors the peak ranges of whose luminescent wavelength are from 530 to 580 nm and from 600 to 650 nm, said luminophors having 30 nm or less of half band width, wherein a luminous flux derived from a luminophor the peak range of whose luminescent wavelength is from 420 to 470 nm accounts for 4 to 10% of a total luminous flux in said main luminescent wavelength, and which permits categorical discrimination of at least green and white transmitted colors used on the sign face, and has a luminous color of 5 or more in Duv.

  • Publication number: 20010035710
Abstract: A fluorescent lamp, wherein a chromaticity value (x, y) of a light source color is in a range surrounded by a point A (0.251, 0.343), a point B (0.285, 0.332), a point C (0.402, 0.407) and a point D (0.343, 0.433), includes a phosphor blend in an inner face of a luminous tube, the phosphor blend comprising an antimony and manganese activated calcium halophosphate phosphor, a rare earth phosphor emitting green, and a rare earth phosphor emitting blue or red.

  • Patent number: 5662403
Abstract: A luminaire used in a room is provided with a brightness effect to avoid giving glare directly to people in the room, to give a desired illuminance on a working surface, and to give a high brightness sensation in the overall room. One or more sparkling regions are provided in which the luminance L (cd/m.sup.2) is in a range of 3.3.ltoreq.log L.ltoreq.-0.3 log w+2.63, when seen from any position in the room between a perpendicular angle of 60 degrees to less than 90 degrees, with the direction immediately beneath the center of the luminaire being 0 degrees. The apparent size of the sparkling region is the solid angle w (steradian (sr)).

  • Patent number: 5254907
Abstract: A lighting system for use in a vehicle cabin comprises a first lamp arranged to a roof, a second lamp arranged to a seat, and a third lamp arranged to a door. A demand is generated for providing a predetermined information to a passenger when getting out, and the first, second and third lamps are turned on in response to this demand.

  • Patent number: 5226711
Abstract: A lighting system for use in a vehicle cabin comprises four ceiling lamps arranged to a roof at its peripheral portions so as to be above a plane including an eye point of a seat occupant, a first foot lamp arranged to an instrument lower cover at its lower portion to be between the top of a front seat cushion and a floor, and a second foot lamp arranged to be adjacent to a rear seat cushion and between the bottom of a rear seat cushion and the floor. Two set mode selector switches allow selection of a lamp set mode between normal and rest modes.

  • Patent number: 5206562
Abstract: A lighting system for use in a vehicle cabin comprises a step lamp arranged to a door, a foot lamp arranged to a seat and a seat lamp arranged to a roof. An ON-OFF circuit turns on the step, foot and seat lamps when the door is opened, and turns off these lamps when the door is closed. An arithmetic circuit controls the step, foot and seat lamps in luminance to obtain a gradual increase in brightness in order of the road and step, the floor and the seat.

  • Patent number: 5149187
Abstract: A lighting system for use in a vehicle cabin comprises a plurality of first lamps which are arranged between a roof and a plane including an eye point of a seat occupant for illuminating predetermined surfaces, and at least one second lamp for illuminating a floor. Luminance levels of the predetermined surfaces are controlled by, for example, an illuminance measuring apparatus, a luminance measuring apparatus, and a lighting controller.

  • Patent number: 5143437
Abstract: The brightness within a vehicle room is adjusted according to external brightness (i.e. illuminance or luminance) at night in such a way that the brightness is increased with increasing external brightness and decreased with decreasing external brightness, under due consideration of human eye adaptation to external lightness and darkness. Therefore, the passenger can read a book, for instance, at roughly a constant visual sensitivity, without being subjected to the influence of change in external illuminance or luminance.
