Publication number: 20210244974Abstract: A vehicle door glass breaking device includes a breaking portion including a pointed end portion configured to point towards an inner surface of a door glass; a guide portion configured to be disposed at the inner surface of the door glass, and guiding the breaking portion in a thickness direction of the door glass; and a restricting portion configured, in a case in which a pressing force, applied by a vehicle occupant to another end portion of the breaking portion, at an opposite side of the breaking portion from the pointed end portion, in a direction towards a side of the door glass, is equal to or greater than a predetermined magnitude, to permit displacement of the breaking portion towards the door glass, and in a case in which the pressing force is smaller than the predetermined magnitude, to restrict displacement of the breaking portion towards the door glass.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 29, 2020Publication date: August 12, 2021Inventor: Yoshinori UOZUMI

Patent number: 9994192Abstract: A vehicle pop-up hood device includes: a hinge base; a first arm that has a rear end portion coupled to the hinge base, and that has a front portion disposed offset toward the vehicle width direction inner side with respect to the rear end portion; a second arm that is coupled to the front portion of the first arm so as to be capable of swinging, and that moves the hood toward a vehicle upper side; an actuator that spans between the first arm and the second arm, and that lifts the hood from a closed position to a lifted position; and a link mechanism that includes a first link and a second link. A coupling location of the hinge base to the first link is disposed further to the vehicle width direction inner side than a coupling location of the hinge base to the first arm.Type: GrantFiled: August 12, 2016Date of Patent: June 12, 2018Assignee: TOYOTA JIDOSHA KABUSHIKI KAISHAInventors: Sotaro Narita, Yoshinori Uozumi

Patent number: 9764711Abstract: A vehicle pop-up hood device includes: a hinge base that is fixed to a vehicle body; a first arm that is pivotably connected to the hinge base; and a second arm that is fixed to a vehicle rear side end portion of a front hood and is pivotably connected to the first arm. Further, the vehicle pop-up hood device includes: an actuator that is provided between the first arm and the second arm, and that, by being operated, pivots the second arm with respect to the first arm; and a connecting portion that, at a time of completion of operation of the actuator, is set in an operating state in which the connecting portion restricts movement of the second arm with respect to the hinge base.Type: GrantFiled: June 25, 2015Date of Patent: September 19, 2017Assignee: TOYOTA JIDOSHA KABUSHIKI KAISHAInventors: Sotaro Narita, Yoshinori Uozumi

Patent number: 9708010Abstract: In a vehicle pop-up hood device, an actuator is coupled to a swinging arm so as to be relatively movable in a vehicle upward direction, so when the actuator pushes up a hinge arm to a pushed-up position, the actuator moves from the pushed-up position to a raised position because of vibration that occurs in a hood. Furthermore, in the raised position, an engagement piece of the actuator engages with a coupling shaft unit of the swinging arm so that the actuator is retained in the raised position. The amplitude of the hood at this time becomes about two times the push-up amount of the actuator. Because of this, the push-up amount of the actuator becomes smaller compared to a case assuming that the actuator pushes up the hinge arm to the raised position, so the amplitude of the vibration of the hood can be reduced.Type: GrantFiled: December 4, 2014Date of Patent: July 18, 2017Assignee: TOYOTA JIDOSHA KABUSHIKI KAISHAInventors: Katsuya Inoue, Yoshinori Uozumi
