    Abstract: The present invention relates to an extraction/insertion type soot blowing apparatus in which a lance tube is inserted into a combustion chamber, and a high-pressure gas is blown from a nozzle provided at the tip end of the lance tube against a deposit adhered onto the inner surface of the combustion chamber to remove the deposit. A rack adapted to be advanced and withdrawn along with the lance tube, and a long shaft for rotating the lance tube, are driven due to connection thereof with two output shafts of a differential gear device, and rotation and linear motion of the lance tube are respectively restrained within predetermined ranges. Thereby, at first the lance tube is inserted into the combustion chamber at a high speed without being rotated, and thereafter the advance is stopped and a gas is discharged while the lance tube is being rotated.

    Abstract: A packed can is seamed by clamping a can body and a lid between a lifter and a chuck, rotationally driving the entire assembly while applying a compression force thereto, and pressing a groove portion of a roll from the outside to an edge portion of the lid to deform such edge portion. Seaming is effected by pressing the groove portion of the roll to the edge portion of the lid with the rotary axis of the roll maintained inclined with respect to the rotary axis of the chuck.

    Abstract: An apparatus for fabricating multi-layer spiral tubes of the type that while the webs are being wrapped in a spiral form the adjacent edge portions of the webs are welded with each other to form spiral tubes, is improved in that the apparatus has a take-up drum for taking up the wrapped webs while rotating with the leading end of the web of the first layer fixedly secured thereto, a wrapping drum having the webs wrapped therearound and including a backing section for backing a welding location of the edge portions of the web of the first layer, a plurality of web feed devices provided adjacent one another for spirally feeding the webs on the wrapping drum of the spiral tubes of the preceding layers, a plurality of wrapping devices provided in combination with the respective web feed devices for spirally wrapping the web on the wrapped drum or the spiral tubes of the preceding layers, and a drawing device for drawing from the wrapping drum the spiral tubes that are being formed continuously.
