  • Publication number: 20040053057
Abstract: A fire-protection glass product having a heat shielding characteristic comprises a plurality of fireproof glass plates, a resin intermediate layer interposed between adjacent ones of the glass plates, and a heat-ray reflection film. The heat-ray reflection film is formed on the surface of at least one of the glass plates, and has a reflectance of 70% or more for a light of the wavelength of 2500 nm and an average transmittance of 60% or more for visible rays. The resin intermediate layer is made of a material selected from fluorocarbon resin, polycarbonate resin, and polyethylene terephthalate resin. At least one of the fireproof glass plates may be made of a heat-resistant transparent crystallized glass plate. The heat-ray reflection film may be formed on at least one of opposite surfaces of the fireproof glass plate.

  • Patent number: 5403664
Abstract: Marble-like glass ceramic which consists essentially of, by weight percent, 50-75% SiO.sub.2, 1-15% Al.sub.2 O.sub.3, 6-16.5% CaO, 0.1-5% Li.sub.2 O, 0-1.5% B.sub.2 O.sub.3, 10-17.5% CaO+Li.sub.2 O+B.sub.2 O.sub.3, 2.5-12% ZnO, 0-12% BaO, 0.1-15% Na.sub.2 O+K.sub.2 O, and 0-10% coloring agents, said ceramic comprising .beta.-wollastonite precipitated as a major crystal. The coloring agents comprises at least one selected from a group of Fe.sub.2 O.sub.3, NiO, CoO, MnO.sub.2, Cr.sub.2 O.sub.3, and CuO. The marble-like glass ceramic may further comprises at least one of As.sub.2 O.sub.3 and Sb.sub.2 O.sub.3 of up to 1% as refining agents, at least one of up to 1.5% MgO and up to 1.5% SrO so as to improve meltability of the glass, and at least one of up to 1% TiO.sub.2, up to 1% ZrO.sub.2, and up to 1% P.sub.2 O.sub.5 so as to make the glass stable and less devitrifiable.

  • Patent number: 5275978
Abstract: A crystallized glass article having a surface pattern like granite, marble or other natural stones with a line pattern of a desired color or colors, which is formed by fusion bonding small masses of a crystallizable glass material mixed with inorganic pigment powder at a heat-treating temperature higher than the softening point. The surface pattern comprises crystallized glass areas defined by the small masses in the surface layer of the article and the colored line pattern defined by the pigment dispersed in the interfaces between adjacent ones of the small masses in the surface layer.

  • Patent number: 5089345
Abstract: In a crystallized glass article consisting of crystallized glass masses fusion bonded together and having a principal surface, said principal surface having a surface pattern determined by said masses in a surface layer including said principal surface, said small crystallized glass masses in said surface layer are mainly of flaky crystallized glass pieces, each being a relatively large flattened piece, said flaky pieces overlapping one another at random to make said principal surface rough, said crystallized glass masses in another layer adjacent to and fused to said surface layer being considerably smaller than said flaky pieces. The article is produced by preparing flaky pieces and the smaller masses both of a SiO.sub.2 --Al.sub.2 O.sub.

  • Patent number: 5066524
Abstract: A crystallized glass article with a colored surface pattern, which comprises a crystallized glass substrate having a surface and small glass masses having a color different from the substrate and dispersed and fusion-bonded in the surface to form the colored surface pattern. The crystallized glass article is produced by depositing and dispersing small glass masses with a color on a surface of a substrate of a crystallizable glass with a different color which can precipitate crystals therein with softening and deforming by heat-treating at a heat treating temperature higher than the softening point of the crystallizable glass, then heating the substrate together with the small glass masses at the heat treating temperature.
