  • Patent number: 4943179
Abstract: A movable window glass arrangement in use for a window of an automobile, made up of a plate glass a part of which is inserted in an injection-molded plastic holder member. The plate glass is formed at its bottom peripheral section with projections which project into the plastic holder member, thereby accomplishing secure connection between the plate glass and the holder member without using adhesive or metallic fastening members.

  • Patent number: 4925511
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of fitting a plate member with at least one supportive or protective member of a synthetic resin by injection molding of the resin with insertion of, for each resin member, a predetermined marginal region of the plate member in the mold cavity. For example, a vehicle window glass is fitted with two holders to be coupled with a window regulator mechanism. To enhance strength of adhesion of the molded resin member(s) to the plate without making any mechanical or thermal treatment of the plate, the marginal region of the plate is closely covered with at least one sheet of plastic film, which has a thickness of 5 to 250 .mu.m and becomes a melt adhesive to both the plate and the molded resin at a temperature in the range from 50.degree. to 150.degree. C., prior to insertion of the marginal region of the plate into the mold cavity. For example, the plastic film is of an ethylene base copolymer.

  • Patent number: 4894972
Abstract: A window assembly to be installed to an automotive vehicle body, and a production method of the same. The window assembly is comprised of a plastic molding securely formed at the peripheral section of a transparent glass plate such as a windshield glass of an automotive vehicle, along the whole periphery of the glass plate. The molding is integrally formed with a flange-section tightly cotractable with the surface of an outer panel of the vehicle body, and a projection securely fittable with the vehicle body outer panel when the window assembly is installed to the vehicle body. The molding is further formed with a depression for effectively retaining adhesive between the molding and the vehicle body outer panel.
