  • Patent number: 5933584
Abstract: The network system according to the present invention incorporates functions for realization of a printing system as the print server software in the print server machine (workstation), and each user communicates with the print server software (PS) through a menu software available from the workstations for a self machine or a menu software available from a particular workstation and executes data output through the printer.

  • Patent number: 5768483
Abstract: A server machine queues print jobs time-sequentially, NIC takes out the print jobs on the server machine job by each job and transfers each print job to a printer controller, the printer controller executes each of the print jobs, the printer controller generates an appropriate message according to whether a print job has been completed or interrupted, NIC transfers a message to the server machine, the server machine transfers the message to the corresponding client machine, and the client machine automatically displays contents of the message.

  • Patent number: 5764866
Abstract: A device for scanning an image to create image data to be transmitted to a network to which the device is connected. The scanning device includes an operation panel for selecting each of settings of scan conditions, a scan unit for scanning at least one image to create image data according to the settings of scan conditions, a memory unit for storing the image data, and a network-interface unit for sending the image data stored in the memory unit to the network.

  • Patent number: 5731879
Abstract: When an image is formed on one surface of each sheet of printing paper, the controller provides controls so that image data for all pages is stored in the HDD, and the image data stored in the HDD is successively converted to actual images from the final page by the drum with the printed sheets discharged onto the discharged paper tray. When image are formed on duplex surfaces of each sheet of printing paper, the controller provides controls so that image data for only odd number pages is stored in the HDD, image data for odd number pages is successively converted by the drum to actual images in the regular order with the printed sheets stacked on the duplex tray, and the sheets stacked on the duplex tray are successively fed from the top one to the drum with the image data for odd number pages stored in the HDD converted to actual images by the drum in the reverse page order with the printed sheets discharged onto the discharged paper tray.

  • Patent number: 5241662
Abstract: A plug-in data cartridge for a printer or a similar device. The cartridge contains an addressable memory and an address generator. In response to a designation of a starting address, the address generator in the cartridge addresses a sequence of memory locations of the memory which is also in the cartridge so that the data can be supplied to the printer. Because only a few starting addresses need to be designated, a low number of address lines is needed, and the number of pins for plugging in the cartridge can be reduced.

  • Patent number: 4872091
Abstract: A memory cartridge for use with a printer, a copier, a word processor and other electronic equipment as an external memory. A connector corresponding to that of the equipment is provided on one end of a casing which accommodates a printed circuit board, which is loaded with memory devices. A plurality of memory cartridges may be connected to a buffer of the equipment via the individual connectors. A grounding plate for making contact with a grounding portion of the printed circuit board is disposed on the memory cartridge close to the connector. This reliably connects the memory cartridge to ground. Further, since which one of the memory cartridges is selected can be determined, it is not necessary for the equipment to be provided with buffers and related circuits in one-to-one correspondence to the memory cartridges.

  • Patent number: 4860119
Abstract: An image forming system includes a memory having a page memory for storing data per one page of a sheet of paper to be printed on a sheet of paper; and a video memory for storing video data corresponding to the data stored in the page memory. A controller secures a memory region for the video memory from an entire memory region of the memory region and forms the video data in the video memory from the data stored in the page memory. A detecting circuit (CPU) detects a currently available memory capacity of the memory means which can be presented for the video memory and a size of the sheet of paper. A printing portion prints an image formed by the video data on the sheet in either one of a plurality of predetermined both side print modes which is selected depending on a detected result by the detecting circuit. The both side print modes define different sequences of reading out the video data corresponding to one page from the video data and difference sequence of printing on surfaces of sheets. .
