  • Publication number: 20090236048
Abstract: A bead pressing device of a tire mounting/dismounting apparatus is provided which separates a tire bead from a wheel rim without causing damage to the tire and enhances the efficiency of the work of exchanging the tire. A bead roller and a roller moving section are disposed on one end of a bead pressing arm that is displaced in a direction close to a rotational axis of a turntable and in a direction away from the rotational axis and which is displaced in an upward direction and in a downward direction. While the bead pressing arm is moved down, the bead roller presses a tire bead and the roller moving section displaces the bead roller in a direction close to a wheel rim to press the tire bead to the wheel drop, thereby separating the tire bead from the wheel rim.

  • Publication number: 20090236047
Abstract: A mounting press device of a tire mounting/dismounting apparatus is provided which prevents the damage of a tire bead even in the case of a tire having high rigidity and mounts the tire to a wheel easily and speedily. A swing arm is provided with a first arm and a second arm. The first arm is provided with a first pressing member so that the first pressing member is movable along the first arm. The second arm is provided with a second pressing member so that the second pressing member is movable along the second arm 34 and can be moved up and down by a second moving up-and-down section. The swing arm and the first and second arms are coupled to the a moving up-and-down body of a first moving up-and-down section so as to be rotatable around an axis parallel to a rotational axis of a turntable.

Abstract: A tire bead guide device of a tire mounting/dismounting apparatus is provided which separates a tire bead from a wheel rim without causing damage to a tire and improves the efficiency of the operation of exchanging the tire. An expandable arm arranged so as to be close to/away from a rotational axis of a turntable is provided with an insertion member angularly displaced around an angular displacement axis, and an insertion member drive section presses another end of an insertion member body, thereby angularly displacing an insertion part in a direction away from the rotational axis of the turntable, and a spring biasing section angularly displaces the insertion part in a direction close to the rotational axis.

  • Patent number: 6629554
Abstract: An apparatus and method for detaching a bead of a tire, has a tire bead separation shoe (1), which has a wedge portion (12) which engages a rim edge (WR) of a wheel (W) having a tire (T). The rim is mounted on a turntable (R). The wedge portion (12) is between the rim edge and the tire bead (TB) and the tire bead fold-back portion (11), and is arranged above the turntable such that it moves up and down. A thrusting rod (4) having a claw (41) provided at its tip end portion is operated when the said wedge portion (12) is shoved between the tire bead (TB) and the rim edge (WR) of the wheel. The claw (41) is shoved between the tire bead and the rim edge. A part of the tire bead is squeezed out of the wheel by the claw onto the bead fold back portion (11). The turntable is revolved so as to smoothly detach the whole circumference of the tire bead (TB) from the rim edge of the tire (W).
