Patent number: 6936473Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method of preparing a biological sample for quantification which includes an element to be quantified. A volume of biological sample is collected without quantifying the volume thereof to mix with a specified volume of an aqueous solution. Absorptivity of an indicating material in the aqueous solution is measured. Absorptivity of the indicating material in the collected biological sample mixed with the specified volume of the aqueous solution is measured. Next, a dilution ratio of the biological sample is calculated using the absorptivity of the indicating material in the specified volume of the aqueous solution and the absorptivity of the indicating material in the biological sample mixed with the specified volume of the aqueous solution.Type: GrantFiled: November 29, 2001Date of Patent: August 30, 2005Assignee: Leisure, Inc.Inventors: Hiromi Nanba, Osamu Koga, Masatoshi Horita, Yoshio Ohta

Publication number: 20010042370Abstract: This invention provides a method for operating a diesel engine with reduced emission of particulates as well as HC, CO, NOx, and SOx, comprising a corona discharge device for producing ozone in the air intake system, the corona discharge device comprising at least one first electrode, at least one second electrode positioned a distance from the first electrode and a dielectric material positioned between the first electrode and the second electrode; and a high frequency power supply having an operational frequency of at least about 1,000 Hz adapted to provide electrical power to the corona discharge device. These harmful emissions from diesel engine are reduced, partly or completely, due to the complete combustion of fuel by supplying enough amount of ozone into the combustion chamber of engine. The particular advantageous feature of this invention is that it can be installed easily and inexpensively to existing and new engines without modifying the operating condition or the structure of engine itself.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 12, 2001Publication date: November 22, 2001Inventors: Yoshio Ohta, Masanori Kondo

Patent number: 4635910Abstract: A damper device including first and second support members, one of which is fixed to a support element and the other of which is fixed to a suspended element, an elastic block made of a deformable, elastic material for elastically coupling the two support members and a sealed space formed therein filled with a liquid. One partition member has its periphery fixed to the first support member and divides the sealed space into two chambers. The partition member has therein a member movable along a short distance. Fluid passages are formed in a wall portion of the first support member so as to communicate between the two chambers and to impart flow resistance to the liquid flowing therethrough. The partition member can be suspended to the first support member by an elastic sheet and be movable along the axial direction of the first support member. A solenoid is mounted on the inner wall of the first support member. When the solenoid is energized, the partition member can be fixed to the first support member.Type: GrantFiled: May 1, 1985Date of Patent: January 13, 1987Assignees: Toyoda Gosei Co., Ltd., Toyota Jidosha Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Isao Ozawa, Noboru Ito, Masaaki Takizawa, Yoshio Ohta, Kiyoteru Ijichi

Patent number: 4610421Abstract: An engine-transmission assembly is supported in an engine room of a vehicle by two elastic support devices supporting it substantially at opposite ends of its rolling axis of inertia and two other elastic support devices supporting it substantially at opposite ends of its pitching axis of inertia. The major part of the weight of the engine-transmission assembly may be borne by the two elastic support devices on the rolling axis of inertia, which may be simple rubber block type support devices; and the two elastic support devices on the pitching axis of inertia may be of a type able to present variable spring constant and/or damping coefficient, optionally according to the driving conditions of the vehicle.Type: GrantFiled: October 11, 1983Date of Patent: September 9, 1986Assignee: Toyota Jidosha Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Yoshio Ohta, Tadashi Kimura, Kiyoteru Ijichi, Masaaki Takizawa

Patent number: 4569246Abstract: The shift lever of a transmission is comprised of a first shift lever having a cylindrical portion for mounting a grip, and a rod-like second shift lever inserted into the cylindrical portion of the first shift lever. In the space defined between the cylindrical portion of the first shift lever and the second shift lever, there are packed a plurality of soft rubber rings and at least one hard rubber rings. The soft rubber rings serve to diminish the propagation of the vibration through the second shift lever to the first shift lever. The hard rubber ring is bonded onto one of the peripheral surfaces of the first and the second shift lever in radially spaced apart relation to the other of the peripheral surfaces of the first and the second shift lever and serves to prevent an excessive bending of the first shift lever relative to the second shift lever during the operation of the shift lever.Type: GrantFiled: August 6, 1984Date of Patent: February 11, 1986Assignee: Toyota Jidosha Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Nobuaki Katayama, Kazuhito Ikemoto, Yoshio Ohta
