  • Patent number: 6068898
Abstract: A film sheet having a pressure valve portion with one or more holes passing partially through the sheet film on one side of the sheet film, and a thin portion covering each of the one or more holes. The thin portion is preferably constructed to rupture when a predetermined maximum sustainable pressure differential is applied across the sheet film. In one embodiment, sheet film has a first film layer; and a second film layer, having one or more through holes, laminated to the first film layer. In another embodiment, the sheet film has a first film layer, a second film layer having one or more through holes, and a third film layer having one or more through holes, wherein the second film layer is laminated on one side of the first film layer, and the third film layer is laminated on the other side of the first film layer so that the one or more through holes of the second film layer are aligned with the one or more through holes of the third film layer.

  • Patent number: 5067221
Abstract: A method of and an apparatus for assembling a slide fastener slider by fitting together a slider body having an attachment lug provided on the upper surface thereof and a pull tab having an aperture in the one end thereof. There is a large enough gap between a distal end of the attachment lug and the upper surface of the slider body to allow the distal end to pass through the aperture of the pull tab. The method is characterized by gradually pressing the distal end of the attachment lug toward the slider body as the slider body is transported along the transport path by using feed rollers having combined functions to constitute a die and to transport the slider body thereon as well as a punch roller.

  • Patent number: 4460083
Abstract: A feed mechanism for an elongate flexible article includes a pair of parallel grippers reciprocable between a first position and a second position for advancing the article along a longitudinal path. The grippers are closed at the first position to grip the article on a pair of spaced leading end portions thereof, and are opened at the second position to release the article. A removal lever, which has a first and a second leg, is disposed adjacent to the second position and is pivotable, in response to the arrival of the grippers at the second position, to cause the first leg to project through a space between the pair of grippers to kick down the article from the grippers while the latter are opened.

  • Patent number: 4433478
Abstract: A method of attaching bottom stops of a generally H-shaped cross section to a slide fastener chain. One of successive spaced pairs of opposed blank tape portions of the fastener chain is spread apart. A bottom stop, which has two pairs of gripping legs, is placed between the spread pair of opposed blank tape portions. The spread pair of opposed blank tape portions is then released and thereby allowed to come toward each other until a pair of opposed blank beaded tape edges are threaded one through a space between each pair of the gripping legs of the bottom stop. Then, the blank beaded tape edges are compressed against the bottom stop on opposite sides. Finally, the gripping legs of each pair are clinched about the compressed beaded edge of a respective one of the stringer tapes. An apparatus for carrying this method is also disclosed.
