  • Publication number: 20140029640
Abstract: In a conventional solid-state laser device, uniformity of an excitation distribution around the axis of a solid-state laser medium is only considered, and symmetry of the excitation distribution in the optical axis direction of the solid-state laser device as a whole is not considered. Therefore, there has been a problem that it is difficult to generate a high-power and high-quality laser beam with high efficiency. In order to solve the problem, in the present invention, excitation modules 51, 52 of an even number is provided, along the optical axis of a solid-state laser beam 18, near the center of a resonator, and semiconductor lasers 21-28 serving as excitation light sources and solid-state laser media 11, 12 provided in the excitation module 51 or in the excitation module 52 are arranged to be symmetrical with respect to a virtual symmetry plane 61 located at a center gap between the excitation modules of the even number.

  • Patent number: 6319409
Abstract: A process for treating waste water containing cutting oil is disclosed, which includes the steps of adding a cationic organic compound to waste water containing used cutting oil to coagulate water-insoluble matter in the water and to thereby form coagulated particles, adding an anionic organic polymer to cause those particles to grow into flocculated flocs, and separating the flocculated flocs. The process of the invention can treat waste water containing used cutting oil in an industrially beneficial way without producing a large amount of sludge.

  • Patent number: 4852033
Abstract: A portable apparatus includes a display device coupled to a housing by means of a hinge mechanism. The display device can be closed such that it is laid on the upper surface of the housing. The portable apparatus comprises a cable-protecting member. This cable-protecting member protects a cable, which electrically connects the housing and the display together and passes through the hinge mechanism. Even if the display device is frequently raised or lowered with reference to the housing, the cable is reliably protected by the cable-protecting member. Therefore, the cable is prevented from being worn away.

  • Patent number: 4846536
Abstract: A hinge mechanism is disclosed which couples the flat-panel display of a portable apparatus to the housing of the apparatus. The flat-panel display can be folded upon the housing, and the apparatus looks like an attache case. The hinge mechanism has a torsion bar. The torsion bar is fastened, at one end, to the hinge mechanism. The other end portion of the torsion bar is flat and held by a holder such that the torsion bar is prevented from rotating around its axis, but can move in its axial direction. The axis of the hinge mechanism is defined by hollow cylindrical bosses inserted in circular holes cut in the hinge mechanism. The force which the torsion bar generates when it is twisted comes into equilibrium with the force urging the display to fall down toward the housing when the display reaches a position close to the housing. Hence, the panel display stops at this position.
