  • Patent number: 5835316
Abstract: There is provided a magnetic head including (a) a block made of magnetic substance, and having first and second leg portions defining a recess therebetween, (b) a first magnetic thin film covering at least on an upper surface of the first leg portion therewith, (c) a member made of non-magnetic substance, and formed within the recess so as to connect the first and second leg portions with each other therethrough, the member being formed therein with an opening through which a wiring is introduced, (d) a non-magnetic thin film formed on the first magnetic thin film above the upper surface of the first leg portion, the non-magnetic thin film constituting a magnetic gap, and (e) a second magnetic thin film formed on the non-magnetic thin film, the member and an upper surface of the second leg portion.

  • Patent number: 5736264
Abstract: A magnetic head of the present invention has a magnetic core and a substrate for supporting the magnetic core. The magnetic core has a magnetic layer which is of a soft magnetic alloy mainly composed of FeTaN. The composition of the alloy meets 72.ltoreq.x.ltoreq.82, 5.ltoreq.y.ltoreq.15, 10.ltoreq.z.ltoreq.15 by atomic percent, where the alloy is indicated to be Fe.sub.x M.sub.y N.sub.z. The magnetic layer contains crystal grains of body-centered cubic structure, and each diameter of said crystal grains is less than 10 nm. The crystal grains have lattice planes which are orientated at random.

  • Patent number: 5195233
Abstract: The head is made up of a first core block having a first core, and a second core block having a second core and a coil wound therearound. The core blocks each has a pair of slider blocks which hold the first or second core between the bonding surfaces thereof. The first core forms part of the bonding surface of either one of the pair of slider blocks or is buried in the bonding surface of either one of the slider blocks, so that the bonding surfaces are flat.

  • Patent number: 5096450
Abstract: A method for fabricating an impregnated type cathode comprises the steps of mixing metal powder having a high melting point and a heat proof property, and electron emission substance powder in a dry state, pressing the mixed powder to provide a pressed mixture, and applying an isostatic pressure to the pressed mixture contained in a sealed capsule. At the mixing stage, the metal powder is heated by a high temperature lower than the melting point, and at the mixing stage, a sintered mixture is obtained. In this method, the steps are simplified and decreased in number to decrease a fabricating cost. Furthermore, no influence occurs in electron emission due to hydrooxides.

  • Patent number: 4931340
Abstract: A honeycomb panel structure for thermal and acoustic insulation and for load bearing capability has a honeycomb panel which comprises a honeycomb core laminated with two facing plates, and a pair of housings. Each housing has a channel to engage and support a edge of the honeycomb panel. A first neutral axis passes through the center of gravity of the honeycomb panel and extends in the direction of the panel. A second neutral axis passes through the centers of gravity of the housings and extends parallel to the first neutral axis. The first and second neutral axes are spaced apart in a vertical direction so that the structure has much higher flexural rigidity.
