    Abstract: A concrete reinforcing steel fiber has an alternate arrangement of basic portions corresponding to the body of the steel fiber material, and section-shaped portions formed by pressing the steel fiber material between a grooved forming roller and a toothed forming roller. Each section-shaped portion has a flat upper surface, lateral projections and a round bottom. The pressure bearing area b of the section-shaped portion, namely, the sum of the cross-sectional area of the lateral projections and the area of the end surface of the basic portion contiguous with the section-shaped portion, is in the range of 0.2A to 0.5A (A=cross-sectional area of the basic portion). The total pressure bearing area B of the steel fiber is in the range of 3A and 8A, and also in the range of 0.02T and 0.08T (T=tensile strength of the steel fiber).

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a cooling means for the squish part of an air cooling over head valve engine, comprising a fan disposed in front of said engine for generating cooling wind. A fan case is provided which covers the front side of the fan and engine. A wind tunnel is formed through the cylinder head of said engine near the squish area and is aligned so as to pass a cooling wind, generated by the fan, above the squish area. The engine is provided with an intake and exhaust ports opening at the front and rear surfaces of said cylinder head, respectively. In the lateral side of the wind tunnel, an intake or exhaust pipe is disposed laterally over the front space of the tunnel, so as to guide cooling wind blown up from the fan to the tunnel along its lower peripheral surface thereof.

    Abstract: A process for producing a thermoplastic polymer sheet, especially that of polyethylene terephthalate, which comprises extruding a molten thermoplastic polymer through an extrusion die in the form of a polymer sheet onto the surface of a moving cooling body and supplying a liquid, such as water or an alcohol, in an amount sufficient to adhere the polymer sheet to the surface of the cooling body, as a vapor or fine liquid droplets to the surface of the extruded polymer sheet at a position between the extrusion die and the surface of the cooling body. This ensures good adhesion between the molten polymer in sheet form and the surface of the cooling body, and provides polymer sheets having superior surface properties at higher speeds than in the prior art.

    Abstract: A V-shaped, air-cooled engine is provided with a cover on the front thereof, which houses a cooling fan connected to the engine's crankshaft. The interior of the cover is fitted with dividers to separate the air flow and direct it to the opposite sides of the engine, and to form a compartment for housing components of a non-contact ignition system. The non-contact ignition system is operated by the cooling fan, and is cooled by the flow of air through the cover. Components of the ignition system are permanently connected to each other, without the usual separable connectors.
