  • Patent number: 5092147
Abstract: A steering lock device includes a housing and a key cylinder rotatably disposed in the housing. A generally cylindrical member is rotatably disposed within the housing coaxially with the key cylinder. The cylindrical member includes an outer wall with a groove having a first circumferential groove section, a second circumferential groove section axially spaced from the first circumferential groove section, and a junction section connecting the first and second circumferential groove sections. A first surface is disposed at one end of the first groove section at the junction section and inclined at a predetermined angle to the first groove section, and a second surface is disposed at the end of the second groove section at the junction section and arranged generally perpendicular to the second groove section. A latch is slidably disposed within the housing and includes a first end projecting outwardly from the housing and a second end projecting within the groove in the outer wall of the cylindrical member.

  • Patent number: 5069493
Abstract: In order to keep the latched condition of a door lock proper even when the associated door is considerably deformed due to a vehicle collision or the like, the outside lever extending from the door lock proper is provided with a pointed portion which is directed toward an outer panel of the door. Upon deformation of the outer panel, the pointed portion is forced to stick into the deformed outer panel establishing a locked engagement therebetween and thus preventing the door lock proper from taking the unlatched condition.

  • Patent number: 5062312
Abstract: An actuator is provided with a motor having a worm, a worm wheel in engagement with said worm and having a pinion-engaging part, a pinion having a worm wheel-engaging part and a rotational axis offset from the rotational axis of the worm wheel, a sector wheel having an output arm and meshing with the pinion, a contact holder, and a positional switch for switching contacts according to the engagement of the contact holder with the sector wheel. The sector wheel is sited at its starting position in a state in which the pinion-engaging part is engaged with the worm wheel-engaging part at a position opposite to the rotational axis of the pinion relative to the rotational axis of the worm wheel. The actuator is compact and uses the motor power very effectively.

  • Patent number: 4913477
Abstract: To protect a door lock mechanism for an automotive vehicle from water or freezing, the door lock mechanism is arranged between a base plate member and a resin protective cover; the upper end portions of the base plate are covered by peripheral walls extending from the walls of the protective cover; the control levers are led out toward the outside through lead-out openings formed horizontally outward between the end surface of the base plate member and the lower surface of the peripheral wall of the protective cover; and some U-shaped control levers are led out through the lead-out openings so as to take a long way around the side edges of the peripheral walls of the protective cover at the lead-out openings.

  • Patent number: 4716748
Abstract: In a steering lock device of a type which can unlock a steering shaft of a vehicle without using a key, there is provided a so-called "back-up" means for assuring the steering shaft unlocking condition of the device when the key in a key rotor assumes "ignition ON" position. The means comprises a pivotally supported check lever having a first end projectable into the key rotor and a second end lockably engageable with a steering shaft locking bar. When the keyless unlocking is intended, the first end of the check lever is moved away from the key rotor by an electromagnetically actuated plunger thereby permitting rotation of the rotor toward the ON position disengaging the locking bar from the steering shaft. Upon completion of disengagement of the locking bar from the steering shaft, the second end of the check lever is brought into locking engagement with the locking bar thereby holding the same in the steering shaft unlocking condition.

  • Patent number: 4526057
Abstract: A push-pull cable arrangement for selectively transmitting longitudinal motion to two separate destinations has an inner wire having a front end, a rear end and an intermediate node between the front and rear ends. The inner wire is enclosed with a first outer casing between the front end and the intermediate node, and with a second outer casing between the intermediate node and the rear end. A front end of the first casing facing the front end of the wire is stationary, and a rear end of the second casing facing the rear end of the inner wire is also stationary. There is further provided an intermediate unit having a first member to which a rear end of the first casing is fixed, and a second member to which a front end of the second casing is fixed. One of the first and second members is a stationary housing, and the other is a sliding member slidably contained in the housing.

  • Patent number: 4432167
Abstract: A corner cover for a window unit having a window frame which forms an opening with a corner, includes a panel and an outer member. The panel is attached to the window frame in such a manner as to cover the corner of the opening. The panel and the window frame form a recess. An outer member extends over the panel to cover one surface of the latter. A flange is formed on the outer member and fits into the recess. A hooked portion is formed on the outer member and clamps part of the panel. The recess, the flange and the hooked portion are designed so that the outer member can be attached to the panel by moving the outer member along the panel in one direction only. The panel and the outer member include a mechanism which limits movement of the outer member from its attached position in the direction opposite that of movement of attaching the outer member to the panel in order to prevent detachment of the outer member from the panel.
