  • Patent number: 6931146
Abstract: For automatically detecting a moving object in an input image taken using a monitor camera or the like, an apparatus includes an input image extracting section, an input image retaining section, a background image retaining section, a background difference calculating section, a moving direction recognizing section, and a united judging section. A movement of an object is detected with precision even in an environment where illumination varies, irrespective of the relative position of a ridge line of the object and a border of unit blocks. And only the moving object can be detected stably even when the camera encounters swing, vibration, etc.

  • Publication number: 20050128291
Abstract: A video surveillance system that automatically keeps track of a moving object in an accurate and efficient manner. The system has two cameras for surveillance. One is a visible-light integrating camera that has a frame integration function to capture visible-light images of objects, and the other is an infrared camera for taking infrared images. A rotation unit tilts and pans the visible-light integrating camera and/or infrared camera, under the control of a tracking controller. Video output signals of those cameras are processed by image processors. The tracking controller operates with commands from a system controller, so that it will keep track of a moving object with the visible-light integrating camera in a first period and with the infrared camera in a second period.

  • Patent number: 5777548
Abstract: A monitoring target plane is photographed with infrared-rays by each infrared-ray camera. A converter converts format of image data from each infrared-ray camera from analog format into digital format. A control unit, when detecting an abnormal area consisting of pixels having a density value over a fixed value in the image data, calculates an azimuth and an angle of elevation toward the sun from an abnormal location on the monitoring target plane that corresponds to that abnormal area, and judges that a fire occurs if an azimuth toward the abnormal location from the infrared-ray camera photographing the image data including the abnormal area is not coincident with the calculated azimuth toward the sun, or if an angle of depression toward the abnormal location from this infrared-ray camera is not coincident with the calculated angle of elevation toward the sun.

  • Patent number: 4967276
Abstract: A infrared/visible integrated imaging apparatus having a video signal mixing device for superimposing a visible video signal upon an infrared video signal. The mixing device has a discriminating circuit setting electrical discrimination between an infrared video signal having a level higher than a predetermined black level and having a lower than the predetermined black level. The visible video signal simultaneously output with the infrared video signal having the level higher than a predetermined black level is practically cut off with a visible video signal selecting circuit. The partially cut off video signal is then superimposed on the thermal video signal for display. The level of each of the two video signals is independently controllable.

  • Patent number: 4608598
Abstract: A plurality of thermal images of an observed object at different times are simultaneously displayed on a single screen of a television monitor simply and economically. The thermal imaging apparatus includes an infrared camera to scan the observed object and to produce a detected video output, a TV monitor to display the thermal images, and a hard memory to convert the IR camera scan to the TV monitor display. The capacity of the hard memory is kept at a minimum which is sufficient for memorizing image data of one frame of scanning.
