  • Patent number: 7391749
Abstract: Controlling establishment of a synchronous communication link depending on how the communication band is used, the controlling being applied to a wireless communication terminal which supports both asynchronous communications and synchronous communications. A asynchronous communication link management section manages the presence of asynchronous communication links between wireless communication terminals. A synchronous communication link management section manages the presence/status of synchronous communication links between wireless communication terminals. When a request to establish a new synchronous communication link is made by a user, a link establishment determination section determines whether the currently-established asynchronous communication links can be maintained based on the presence/status of the asynchronous and synchronous communication links and the requested communication quality.

  • Patent number: 7110784
Abstract: In response to the receipt of an inquiry sent out from a wireless headset 2 serving as a source wireless communication device, each of cellular phones 1a and 1b serving as prospective destinations determine whether it is currently able to provide a service, based on a current service provision environment concerning itself. Assuming that only the cellular phone 1a is currently able to provide a service, the cellular phone 1a sends an inquiry response to the presently received inquiry to the wireless headset 2. In response to the receipt of the inquiry response, the wireless headset 2 selects the cellular phone 1a which has returned the inquiry response as the destination. As a result, there is provided a wireless communication system which makes it possible for a source wireless communication device to establish a connection with a wireless communication device which is able to provide a service.

  • Patent number: 7006852
Abstract: There is provided a power save processing method to be performed by a communication terminal capable of concurrently establishing communication links with a plurality of slave communication terminals, which reduces the transition time and provides an increased power save operation time. When a power save operation is performed at a plurality of slave communication terminals having asynchronous communication links established with the master communication terminal, the master communication terminal sets a communication start time and a communication duration for each communication link such that the communication slots used for the communication links are huddled together so as to span one continuous range, assuming that the communication links all have the same communication cycle. In accordance with the parameters thus set, the master communication terminal Negotiates with the plurality of slave communication terminals.

  • Publication number: 20050262216
Abstract: A device that performs a master/slave switching process dynamically changing a device functioning as a master device in a network in consideration of fixed device performances and also variable device states is provided. A device's own device information managing section (15) of a master device (1) manages device's own device information regarding its own device. Another device information managing section (16) manages other device information regarding other devices, which are slave devices. A schedule information managing section (17) manages schedule information regarding master device candidates. A device information processing section (13) obtains predetermined information, such as the remaining amount of battery, from a slave device specified based on the other device information and the schedule information at a predetermined time.

  • Patent number: 6694386
Abstract: A data transfer apparatus includes a reception unit for receiving data from the first external device; a storage unit for storing the data received by the reception unit; an output unit for receiving data and outputting the data to a second external device; a retransmission request receiving unit for receiving a retransmission request signal from the second external device; and a transfer control unit for having a first transfer performed when the receiving unit has received data from the first external device, the first transfer transferring the data using direct memory access (DMA) directly to both the output unit and the storage unit in parallel, and having a second transfer performed when retransmission request receiving unit has received the retransmission request signal, the second transfer transferring data, which has already been stored in the storage unit by the first transfer, to the output unit.
