The processing circuitry is configured to generate second ultrasound image data by assigning a pixel value to each of pixels of which a change of the brightness value between before and after a contrast enhancement is equal to or larger than a threshold value with regard to pre-contrast-enhanced image data and post-contrast-enhanced image data of the subject both of which were acquired after a treatment using a puncture needle has been performed, the assigned pixel value corresponding to the distance between the pixel and the boundary of the region of interest. The processing circuitry is configured to cause a display unit to display the second ultrasound image data.

The detection unit analyzes a first piece and a second piece of image data of a breast, and detects the positions of a chest wall and a nipple in each of the pieces of image data, wherein the first piece of image data is three-dimensional medical image data and the second piece of image data is medical image data of a different type from the first piece of image data. The generating unit generates a first sectional image and a second sectional image based on the first piece and second piece of image data, respectively. The associating unit associates the positional relation of the breast in the pieces of image data so that the positions of the chest wall and the nipple match between the pieces of image data.

    Abstract: According to one embodiment, an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus includes a transceiver part, a signal processing part and an image generation part. The transceiver part controls an ultrasonic probe to perform a first and second scans. The first scan transmits a first ultrasonic wave and an ultrasonic wave, obtained by modulating an amplitude of the first ultrasonic wave, to scanning lines distributed three dimensionally, and receives first reflected waves. The second scan transmits a second ultrasonic wave to scanning lines distributed two dimensionally during the first scan, and receives second reflective waves. The transceiver part obtains first and second reception signals based on the first and second reflected waves. The signal processing part generates composite signals by combining the first reception signals. The image generation part generates three dimensional ultrasonic image data based on the composite signals, and two dimensional ultrasonic image data based on the second reception signals.

    Abstract: An ultrasound diagnosis system, a medical image display apparatus and displaying method that simultaneously acquires virtual endoscopy image data and multi-planar-reconstruction (MPR) image data of a diagnosing target region based on the volume data acquired from an object. Virtual endoscopy image data is generated by setting up a viewing point and a viewing direction on a volume data acquired from the object. A marker is provided on a target region of a lumen organ shown in the virtual endoscopy image data for setting up an observing direction. A reference line started from the volume data is set up along an observing direction. By comparing a voxel value of the volume data that is crossing to the reference line with a prescribed threshold value, a reference point where a surface of the diagnosing target region crosses the reference line is set up to the volume data.

    Abstract: When scanning a three-dimensional region while rotating a scanning plane about a predetermined axis (rotation axis), an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus calculates a motion vector of a motion scanning plane (ultrasonic sectional layer) using ultrasonic image data in the rotation axis and corrects a positional mismatch between the scanning planes using the calculated motion vector. The motion vector is calculated and the positional mismatch between the sectional layers, using at least one frame having a cardiac time phase close to the frame of which the motion should be corrected and being spatially close to the frame, in addition to the frames at the same cardiac time phase as the frame of which the motion should be corrected.

    Abstract: An imaging part transmits ultrasonic waves to a specific tissue having a tubular morphology in a three-dimensional region and acquires volume data showing the specific tissue. A tomographic image generator generates tomographic image data in a specified cross-section of the specific tissue based on the volume data. A boundary setting part sets a boundary of the specific tissue shown in the tomographic image data. A developed image generator sets a viewpoint at a specified position with respect to the boundary and executes a rendering process on the volume data along a view direction from the viewpoint toward the boundary, thereby generating developed image data in which the specific tissue is developed along the boundary.
