  • Publication number: 20100055277
Abstract: A process for preparing a functional material by heat-treating a skin portion of poultry to carry out deoiling and defatting and to concentrate and pasteurize human-type sphingomyelin and plasmalogen-type glycerophospholipid contained in said skin portion, said heat-treatment comprising the steps of (A) continuously injecting hot water heated to 100° C. or higher and/or steam into a heating chamber of a semi-sealed space having said temperature or higher, to generate water microdroplets and moist hot steam, (B) replacing air in said heating chamber with said water microdroplets and moist hot steam, to fill a gas component (gaseous water) that has a composition having a relative humidity of 95% or more and an oxygen concentration of 0.2% by volume or less and that is maintained in a temperature range of 100 to 115° C.

  • Publication number: 20020009481
Abstract: A substance with antiobese and visceral fat pad reducing functions which is derived from natural crude lipids and artificially separated therefrom and has the effect of specifically accelerating the uncoupling respiration (proton leak) of thermogenic tissue cells such as brown adipose (BA) cells of mammals including human beings, agents for medical treatment containing the above substance as the active ingredient, compositions containing the same, foods containing the above substance as the active ingredient, and feeds containing the above substance as the active ingredient, having antiobese (inhibiting an increase of visceral fat pad) and visceral fat pad reducing actions, and the above substance thus obtained specifically accelerates the uncoupling respiration (proton leak) of brown adipose (BA) cells in thermogenic tissues such as brown adipose tissues (BAT), from among vital tissue cells of mammals including human being.

  • Patent number: 5976606
Abstract: The present invention provides a process for producing DHA (docosahexaenoic acid)-containing tofu or soybean milk drink, or a dry powder thereof which does not influence taste even if a DHA-containing fish oil is incorporated at a high concentration, which is stable and of which starting materials are inexpensive. A DHA-containing fish oil emulsion is prepared by mixing soybean milk with a DHA-containing fish oil at a weight ratio of 1:0.2 to 1, and stirring the mixture. Then, soybean milk drink can be produced by further diluting this emulsion with soybean milk to give a predetermined DHA concentration. Still further, DHA-containing tofu can be produced by coagulating the soybean milk containing this emulsion with the addition of a coagulant. Since the same soybean milk as the starting material of tofu or soybean milk drink is used as an emulsifying agent, such a product is obtained that even if DHA is contained at a high concentration, this does not influence a taste or properties of the product.
