  • Publication number: 20120154871
Abstract: A printing apparatus to print an image on both surfaces of a tab sheet includes a setting unit and a printing unit. The setting unit sets whether to align an orientation of a first image to be printed on a first surface tab portion of a first surface of the tab sheet with an orientation of a second image to be printed on a second surface tab portion of a second surface of the tab sheet. In response to the setting unit setting to align the first and second image orientations, the printing unit prints the first and second image to equalize the orientation of the first and second image. In response to the setting unit setting not to align the first and second image orientation, the printing unit prints the first and second image to differentiate the orientation of the first and second image.

  • Publication number: 20120140263
Abstract: The present invention provides an image processing apparatus and an image processing system that prevent an operation contrary to an operator's intention from occurring due to conflict between instructions from a plurality of input devices, and control methods thereof. To accomplish this, the image processing apparatus of the present invention selects an input device to which a preferential use authority of the image processing apparatus is to be assigned from among a plurality of input devices in communication with the image processing apparatus, assigns the preferential use authority, receives an operation instruction transmitted from the input device, and executes a job in accordance with the received operation instruction.

  • Publication number: 20110150551
Abstract: An image forming system includes a receiving unit configured to receive a job, an acquisition unit configured to acquire print setting information from the received job, a detection unit configured to detect, when there is a tab sheet print command included in the acquired print setting information, an image orientation and a binding position, a determination unit configured to determine an alignment order of tab sheets based on a relationship between the detected image orientation and binding position, a sheet feeding unit configured to feed a sheet from a tab sheet bundle of the alignment order determined by the determination unit, and a printing unit configured to perform printing on the fed sheet.

  • Publication number: 20100208291
Abstract: An image processing apparatus, connectable with plural image processing apparatuses via a network, which performs image processing. UI setting data is received from an another image processing apparatus, and it is determined whether or not a function included in the received UI setting data can be executed by the apparatus itself. If it is determined that the function cannot be executed by the image processing apparatus, a first image processing apparatus which can execute the function is retrieved on the network. Then setting is changed such that the function is substitutionally executed by the first image processing apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20100053673
Abstract: A document submission management system calculates predicted values of the amount of consumption of consumables used for printing processing according to an order from a user, estimates the cost of the printing processing based on the predicted values, and transmits the estimated cost to a client terminal of the user. A user interface allowing placement of an order briefly displays the cost for a print option. For the cost estimate, the cost of printing form data used in printing processing is registered in advance in a memory in the document submission management system, so that time required for the calculation of the estimate is reduced.

  • Publication number: 20090279138
Abstract: An image processing system which makes it possible to find a user-friendly substitute apparatus with ease. The image processing system includes a plurality of image processing apparatuses. An operation history management module collects operation information indicative of details of operations executed in each of the image processing apparatuses and stores the collected operation information as operation history information in a database. Search conditions for searching for a second image processing apparatus to be substituted for a first image processing apparatus, from among the image processing apparatuses, are input via a search condition input screen. A management server searches for image processing apparatuses satisfying the search conditions from among the image processing apparatuses by referring to the operation history information. The management server generates search result screen information for causing a display section of the first image processing apparatus to display results of the search.

  • Patent number: 7580139
Abstract: A print configuration is set to a folder in accordance with a user instruction. When an operation of inputting a file into the folder is detected, the file is managed. A determination is made as to whether each of a plurality of managed files has a predetermined type and is inputted into the folder in a predetermined order defined by the predetermined type. In a case where it is determined that each of the managed files has the predetermined type and is inputted into the folder in the predetermined order, the managed files are merged in the predetermined order to generate print data to be outputted to a print device for printing according to the print configuration. The generated print data is transmitted to the print device.
