  • Patent number: 5256772
Abstract: A monoazo lake pigment and use thereof; the monoazo lake pigment is obtained by subjecting to a coupling reaction a diazo component mixture containing a naphthalene-based or benzene-based amine having a soluble group and 0.1 to 20 mol %, based on said amine, of a naphthalene-based or benzene-based amine having no soluble group and a coupler component mixture containing either .beta.-naphthol or .beta.-oxynaphthoic acid and 0.1 to 30 mol %, based on said .beta.-naphthol or .beta.-oxynaphthoic acid, of at least one member selected from compounds of the following formulae (I) to (III), and carrying out a lake-forming reaction of a coupling reaction product during or after said coupling reaction, ##STR1## wherein each of X.sub.1, X.sub.2 and X.sub.3 is at least one water-insoluble group selected from the group consisting of a halogen atom, a lower alkoxy group, a lower alkyl group, a nitro group and an amino group substituted with a lower alkyl group.

  • Patent number: 5248335
Abstract: A pigment composition which shows a low viscosity even when prepared into a high-concentration dispersion and is therefore free from a decrease in gloss and tinting strength, the composition containing 100 parts by weight of a monoazo lake pigment obtained from .beta.-oxynaphthoic acid or .beta.-naphthol as a coupler component and an aromatic diamine having a water-soluble group as a diazo component, and 0.3 to 20 parts by weight of at least one compound selected from the group consisting of compounds of the formulae (1), (2) and (3), ##STR1## wherein X is independently a halogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, an alkoxy group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, carboxyl, a nitro group, an amino group or hydroxyl, and n is an integer of 0 to 7; and a pigment dispersion containing the above pigment composition.

  • Patent number: 4810302
Abstract: An azo pigment composition suitable for use in a gravure printing ink or paint comprises the following components (I) and (II):(I): a compound obtained by coupling a diazonium salt of a benzene-type amine, which has a carboxyl group or sulfonic group at the meta or para position with respect to the amino group, and either coupler of beta-naphthol or beta-hydroxynaphtoic acid;(II): a naphthol-type azo pigment, such as Parmanent Carmine FB (C.I. 12490), Brilliant Fast Scarlet (C.I. 12315), and Lake Red C (C.I. 15585), etc.The composition does not flocculate pigment particles in a gravure ink or paint during a long period storage.
