Abstract: A tape cassette for use in a recording apparatus with a lid lock to lock a front lid of the tape cassette in a closed position. The lid lock includes a fixing portion which fixes the lid lock to the cassette body, and a locking portion with a lock claw which engages the front lid to lock the front lid in the closed position. A reinforcing member formed of a resilient material extends between a support portion and a front leg portion of the lock member to bias the front leg portion of the lock member in a frontal direction toward a locking position. The lock claw locks and releases the front lid by movement caused by the deformation of the lid lock.

Abstract: Disclosed is an information recording medium comprising:a base having a first surface and a second surface;a light-sensitive layer provided on said first surface of said base; anda plurality of magnetic layers provided on said second surface of said base, wherein a coercive forces of said magnetic layers are different from each other.An information recording medium according to this invention is capable of recording a variety of information in plural magnetic layers classifying the information by the degree of significance.

Abstract: Disclosed is a silver halide photographic light-sensitive material comprising;a support having a first side and a second side which is opposite to said first side;a silver halide emulsion layer provided on said first side: anda recording medium provided on said second side, wherein said recording medium comprising a magnetic layer having a magnetic powder and a first binder, and a conductive layer which contains a conductive particle and a second binder,said conductive particle being essentially consisting of one of crystalline metal oxide selected from the group consisting of ZnO, TiO.sub.2, SnO.sub.2, Al.sub.2 O.sub.3, In.sub.2 O.sub.3 and SiO.sub.2, and a complex oxide thereof.A silver halide photographic light sensitive material according to this invention is capable of magnetic recording, high in light transmitting property, and excellent in antistatic property and film feeding property.

Abstract: A magnetic recording medium is disclosed which comprises a first magnetic layer on a nonmagnetic support and a second magnetic layer on the first magnetic layer.The first magnetic layer contains A parts by weight of at least one of Si and Al per 100 parts by weight of magnetic materials, and the second magnetic layer contains B parts by weight of at least one of Si and Al per 100 parts by weight of magnetic materials, wherein A is smaller than B.This magnetic recording medium is characterized in that: the magnetic recording medium does not stain the conveyance rollers in the manufacturing process; problems which tend to occur when running conventional tapes are greatly reduced; and it is suitable for use as a video tape.

Abstract: A method of improving a magnetic recording medium in the physical and electromagnetic properties is disclosed. The method is comprised, in combination, of the steps of:making a support of one selected from the group consisting of polyehtylene naphthalate and polyehtylene terephthalate;providing on the support, a magnetic recording layer comprising a ferromagnetic metal powder, a carbon black, a lubricant, an abrasive and a binder;providing on the opposite side of the magnetic layer, a back coating layer comprising a carbon black, non-magnetic particles and a binder;wherein the Young's modulus of said magnetic recording medium in a traveling direction is not less than 1100 kg/mm.sup.2.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a magnetic tape cassette comprising upper and lower halves of cassette forming the cassette body wherein supply and take-up reels for a tape are to be loaded, a front cover that swivels and covers rotatably the front side of the cassette where the tape runs and a front cover spring that keeps causing the front cover to be swiveled in one direction.In the upper half of cassette offered by the invention, the side wall of the upper half of cassette is provided with a loading opening, and when a shaft provided on the front cover for supporting the front cover when it swivels or rotates is positioned at the corner of the loading opening, it is possible to mount the front cover regularly and finally only on the upper half of cassette owing to a stopper protrusion that checks the downward movement of the shaft provided on the front cover and a slip-prevention protrusion that checks the forward movement of the same shaft.

Abstract: A magnetic recording medium having plural magnetic layers is disclosed. The uppermost magnetic layer contains an abrasive with an average particle diameter of not more than 0.3 .mu.m, and a magnetic layer other than the uppermost magnetic layer contains an abrasive with an average particle diameter of not less than 0.3 .mu.m. The medium is improved in the electromagnetic conversion characteristics and sliding noise.

Abstract: A hanger for hanging a product such as a video cassette for display is disclosed. The hanger is in a form of a flat plate, and comprises a bonding section capable of bonding to a product to be hanged, and a folding section having a hanging means such as a hole and is formed integral with the bonding section. The folding section is capable of turning upward by a predetermined angle with respect to its original state in which the bonding section and the folding section are substantially in the same plane. The hanger can be automatically bonded to the product and does not interfere with the automatic packaging of a number of products into a box due to its flat structure. The folding section is folded upward when the product to be displayed and is hanged by the hanging means on a displaying place.

Abstract: A magnetic recording medium is disclosed which comprises a support and a magnetic recording layer provided on said support, said magnetic recording layer containing a polycarbonate polyurethane obtained by the reaction of a polycarbonatepolyol of the formula ##STR1## wherein R is selected from the group consisting of aliphatic hydrocarbons having 4 to 12 carbon atoms and aromatic hydrocarbons having 6 to 12 carbon atoms, and n is an integer of not larger than 50 with a polyisocyanate containing a plurality of isocyanate groups and, if necessary, a polyol.In a preferred form of the invention, the layer also contains, as a dispersant, a compound of the formula ##STR2## wherein A is hydroxyl, --OM, or ##STR3## M being an alkali metal and n is an integer from 1 to 30.

Abstract: A magnetic recording medium is disclosed which comprises a support, and a magnetic layer comprising a specific binder resin, a fatty acid or a fatty acid ester and a magnetic particle. The binder resin comprises a monomer unit of vinyl chloride, a monomer unit having an alkalin metal salt of sulfonic acid or an alkaline salt of phosphoric acid and a monomer unit having an epoxy group. The magnetic recording medium is improved in a dispersibility of magnetic particles, a durability for still picture reproduction, a stability in running and in a S/N ratio of luminance.

Abstract: A magnetic recording medium is disclosed comprising a support and a magnetic layer comprising a magnetic metal powder which is pre-treated by a process comprising(a) treating the surface of said magnetic metal powder with a surfactant in an inert atmosphere.(b) steeping said magnetic metal powder in an organic liquid, and(c) drying said magnetic metal powder in the presence of an oxidative gas.

Abstract: A magnetic recording medium having a magnetic layer and a backing layer on opposite sides of a support is disclosed. The backing layer comprises a binder resin, a conductive carbon black and an organic powder.

Abstract: Disclosed is a magnetic recording medium which comprises a support, a magnetic recording layer and optionally a back-coating layer, at least of said magnetic recording layer and said back-coating layer containing a urethane resin having a yield point.The tape performances of the magnetic recording medium according to the present invention can be markedly improved by incorporating the urethane resin having a yield point.

Abstract: A magnetic recording medium comprising a support and provided thereon a magnetic layer containing magnetic powder and a copolymer capable of being soluble in water by 10 parts by weight or more per 100 parts by weight of water.Further, a process of preparing a magnetic recording medium wherein magnetic powder is treated with a copolymer capable of dissolving 10 parts by weight or more per 100 parts by weight of water in an aqueous medium under presence of a metal ion and a magnetic paint containing this treated magnetic powder is coated on base to form a magnetic layer is also provided.

Abstract: A magnetic recording medium comprising a support having a magnetic layer on a first side of said support and a back coat layer on a second side of said support, which second side is opposite said first side, said back coat layer containing at least a silicon-modified polyurethane and a carbon black having a BET value of from 200 to 500 m.sup.2 /g, said silicon-modified polyurethane being obtained by the reaction of an isocyanate and an active hydrogen compound having a siloxane linkage.

Abstract: An ink composition and method for ink jet recording are disclosed. The ink composition comprises a coloring agent and additives which are adjusted to bring the roundness of dots formed on a recording medium, such as paper, of from 50 to 80 g/m.sup.2, to be at least 0.75 where said roundness (D) is represented by the formulaD=4.pi..times.S/L.sup.2where S is the area of each dot, L is the circumferential length of the dot and .pi. is the circular constant. The ink composition has good ink drop projection stability, good storage stability and a superior property for producing highly densed dots having an improved configuration close to a perfect circle on the recording medium.
