  • Patent number: 9663084
Abstract: A rotating pumping apparatus is provided which may be employed in an automotive brake system. The rotating pumping apparatus includes a sealing member and a pressure member. The sealing member is disposed around a pump drive shaft. The pressure member includes a plate spring, a first rotation stopper, and a second rotation stopper. The first rotation stopper serves to stop the pressure member from rotating following rotation of the pump drive shaft. The second rotation stopper engages the seal ring to stop the sealing member from rotating following the rotation of the pump drive shaft. The plate spring works to elastically press the sealing member against a stopper wall of a pump casing to stop the sealing member from moving in an axial direction of the pump drive shaft.

  • Patent number: 9638328
Abstract: A rotating pumping apparatus is provided which may be employed in an automotive brake system. The rotating pumping apparatus includes a sealing member and an oil seal which are disposed around a pump drive shaft, and lubricating grease disposed between the oil seal and the pump drive shaft. The sealing member is made up of a resinous ring and a rubber cup. The sealing member has formed therein a labyrinthine flow path which extends from the resinous ring to the rubber cup. The labyrinthine flow path is designed to permit fluid to flow therethrough and create the resistance to flow of the lubricating grease to avoid leakage of the grease outside the sealing member.

  • Patent number: 9316317
Abstract: A sealing apparatus includes: a case having a hollow portion; a shaft passing through the hollow portion; and a sealing member sealing between the case and the shaft, and including a resin ring and a ring-shaped rubber cap. The rubber cap includes a base portion and a lip portion. The lip portion includes a first lip contacting the resin ring and a second lip configured to contact an inner peripheral surface of the case. If a pressure of a first chamber of the lip portion side is lower than a pressure of a second chamber at the side of the base portion, the second lip is separated from the case to relieve the pressure of the second chamber to the first chamber. The base portion includes a first restricting surface for restricting the base portion from moving, and a second surface for restricting the base portion from moving.

  • Patent number: 9187072
Abstract: A shaft sealing device comprising: a first member; a second member provided with a through-hole through which the first member passes; a sealing member configured to seal a gap between the through-hole and the first member; a rotation restricting part restricting relative rotation between the first and second members; and an axial displacement restricting part restricting the axial displacement of the sealing member. The rotation restricting part includes a first contact portion provided on the first member, a second contact portion provided on the sealing member and an inclined surface included on the first contact portion. The axial displacement restricting part includes a stopper surface. When the sealing member rotates in one direction relative to the second member by being dragged by the first member, the sealing member contacts the stopper surface to restrict the axial displacement of the sealing member.

  • Publication number: 20150226212
Abstract: A rotating pump includes an outer and an inner rotor disposed in a casing with a gap between the casing and the outer rotor. The rotating pump also includes a first and a second sealing member in the casing to define a low-pressure region and a high-pressure region within the gap. Each of the first and second sealing members is made up of a seal functioning portion and an elastically pressing portion. The seal functioning portion includes a resinous member and a deformation-suppressing member. The resinous member contacts the outer rotor and a low-pressure side inner surface of the casing to establish a difference in pressure between the low-pressure region and the high-pressure region. The deformation-suppressing member works to stop the resinous member from deforming undesirably. This minimizes the risk of breakage of the resinous member and enables the rotating pump to discharge the fluid at an increased pressure.

  • Patent number: 7247005
Abstract: A motor-driven gear pump assembly includes a rotary shaft rotatably mounted in a housing, and a pump mounted on the rotary shaft. The pump has a pressure chamber. A high-pressure seal is disposed around the shaft between the pump and the motor. A low-pressure seal is provided around the shaft between the high-pressure seal and the motor. An annular oil seal chamber is formed between the high-pressure seal and the low-pressure seal to surround the shaft. A recess chamber is formed around the oil seal chamber. Oil is introduced into the oil seal chamber until the portion of the rotary shaft in the oil seal chamber is completely submerged in the oil introduced while leaving air in the oil seal chamber. The oil in the oil seal chamber thus serves as a seal which positively prevents infiltration of air into the pump. If oil in the pump leaks through the high-pressure seal into the oil seal chamber, the air is compressed, thus absorbing any increase in the volume of oil.
