  • Patent number: 6125250
Abstract: When the upper case of the developing device is pushed from above, the upper case may be deformed producing a negatively activated pressure corresponding to the deformed volume of the case, thereby dispersing toner along with the air. When the developing device is mounted to or dismounted from the color image forming apparatus, the dispersed toner may fall out of the developing device. To prevent the toner from falling out of the developing device, the toner carrier and the limiting member for limiting the toner layer thickness are held in the developer case and a falling toner receiver is formed which is recessed in the developer case in the longitudinal and widthwise directions of the toner carrier and the limiting member for limiting the toner layer thickness. The falling toner is collected in the receiver, preventing the device from being contaminated with the falling toner and facilitating the cleaning of the device.

  • Patent number: 5381584
Abstract: A controlling apparatus controls a suction performance of a blower motor which is installed into a cleaner main body. The controlling apparatus increases the suction performance when a suction nozzle is operated and decreases the suction performance when the suction nozzle is stopped. Corresponding to a floor use suction nozzle and a crevice use suction nozzle, at a predetermined air flow amount range, the most suitable operation control being suited to a discriminated suction nozzle can carried out automatically. Plural kinds of the suction nozzles at an actual use scope are set beforehand. When the suction nozzle is exchanged the flow amount range is changed over and selected with a respective suction nozzle. Plural kinds of the suction nozzles are selected and changed over automatically according to the dimension of a change amount of an operation condition. A brushless direct motor is used as the blower motor and has a domain being operated at a chopper control duty of factor 100%.

  • Patent number: 5155885
Abstract: An output of a electric driven blower in a cleaner main body is controlled in response to a detection value of a pressure sensor which detects an operation condition in the cleaner main body. A change-over level setting value is provided as a control value for the sensor so as to form a judgment point for changing over a control condition of the blower. A return level setting value is provided as a control value for the sensor so as to form a judgment point for returning to a previous control condition of the blower from a changed-over condition of the blower. When the detection value of the sensor is more than the change-over level setting value, the return level setting value is set higher than the change-over setting value, thereby the output of the blower is increased, or the return level setting value is set a lower than the change-over level setting value, thereby the output of the blower is decreased.

  • Patent number: 5042844
Abstract: A hose fixture device has a cylindrical wall with projections thereon, which projections engage a corresponding mounting projection of a hose. Normally that mounting projection is a helix, so that there is a screw engagement. The projections are arranged circumferentially around the cylindrical wall with gaps therebetween. There are also gripper members, again spaced circumferentially with gaps therebetween, which grip an end of the hose. The gaps make is easy to see such engagement. The gripper members are aligned with the gaps between those projections. This provides a secure fixing of the hose to the hose fixture device. Furthermore, the device may be moulded easily. Such a hose fixture device may be used to attache a hose joint component (e.g. a suction tool) to a hose of an electric vacuum cleaner.

  • Patent number: 5027469
Abstract: A vacuum cleaner comprising a fan motor disposed in a main body case thereof and having a motor with a permanent magnet stator or rotor, and a fan arranged to be rotated by the motor. A dust-collecting chamber collects dust suctioned into the main body case due to the rotation of the fan motor, and a dust-collecting filter causes the dust suctioned into the main body case to be caught in the dust-collecting chamber. A magnetic material adhesion preventing device is provided in a passage through which air flows due to rotation of the fan motor, with the magnetic material adhesion preventing device acting to prevent adhesion of fine dust composed of magnetic materials included in the air flow to a portion in the vicinity of the permanent magnet. As a result, adhesion of fine dust between the rotor and stator can be prevented thereby increasing the service life and the reliability of the vacuum cleaner.
