  • Patent number: 7216393
Abstract: The present invention relates to an optical-connector cleaning device, wherein an outer casing has an openable and closable window, through which a cleaning tape for cleaning fiber end surface of the optical connectors is gradually fed. The optical-connector cleaning device according to the invention includes a cassette for integrally holding a reel for feeding unused cleaning tape and a reel for taking up the used cleaning tape, wherein the cassette can be attached to and detached from the outer casing, thus facilitating the replacement of the cleaning tape. Furthermore, in the optical-connector cleaning device according to the invention, a replacement unit including a guide plate for guiding the fiber end surface of the optical connector and a rubber pad serving as a base for the cleaning tape can be detachably disposed at a position corresponding to the window in the outer casing, thus facilitating the cleaning of optical connectors having different shapes.

  • Patent number: 4613529
Abstract: The present invention provides an artificial fur of a rising hair structure formed by implanting pile fibers through a base fabric, characterized in that the pile fibers are inclined generally longitudinally, as viewed from above the surface, the pile fibers in the widthwise central section of the rising hair structure extend in parallel to the longitudinal direction, the pile fibers in the opposite peripheral sections extend diagonally widthwise with respect to the longitudinal direction and the pile fibers in the outermost sections of the rising hair structure extend diagonally at angles in the range from 10 to 80 degrees with respect to the longitudinal direction of the rising hair structure. The present invention enables stable and economic mass production of such an artificial fur by means of a liquid-flow treatment machine.

  • Patent number: 4418104
Abstract: A fur-like napped fabric and process for manufacturing same are disclosed wherein a fiber layer comprising uncrimped short fibers or short fibers having a number of crimps of not greater than 10 crimps per inch are provided as a fiber layer on a base fabric. The fibers are then implanted into the base fabric by needle punching. Thereafter, the fibers are raised to form a nap. After needle punching, the base fabric and fibers may be bonded to each other by means of a backing treatment or the like which is carefully applied so as not to permeate the raised hair portion extending on the front surface of the fabric. Especially pleasing aesthetic effects are produced when the napped fibers have static frictional coefficients of less than 0.35 and wherein the bending recovery rate of said fibers is higher than 50%.

  • Patent number: 4381325
Abstract: This invention relates to a liquid-retaining synthetic fiber having a substantially pointed free end and including a tapered portion having an acute ridgeline on its surface. It is prepared from a synthetic fiber having in section at least one concave portion and at least one convex portion which gradually taper off toward the outside from the center. These fibers are suitable for use in brushes, or for the manufacture of knitted or woven fabrics or flocked fabrics having an animal hair-like or fur-like touch or appearance.
