  • Patent number: 4620257
Abstract: In a carrier relay system in which protective relay apparatus are disposed in terminal stations respectively and interchange information between the terminal stations via a signal transmission line for detecting a trouble occurred in power transmission lines on the basis of the exchanged information, specific information K is inserted in a predetermined position of a signal transmitted from the first terminal station to the second terminal station, and the specific information K is inserted intact in another predetermined position of a signal returned from the terminal station to the terminal station. In the terminal station, the specific information K inserted in the signal transmitted therefrom is compared with the specific information K inserted in the signal returned from the terminal station for deciding the presence or absence of a trouble occurred in the power transmission lines.

  • Patent number: 4161651
Abstract: A system for sampling and collecting simultaneously data from terminal apparatus installed at a plurality of data measuring locations (data sources) distributed in a system to be monitored or controlled by using at least a single optical fiber includes means for initiating sampling of measured quantities in response to a synchronizing signal supplied-from a master station, and means for allotting to the terminal apparatus respective particular time slots during which the data as measured is transmitted to the master station through at least a single optical fiber.

  • Patent number: 4032913
Abstract: In a parallel digital signal delivered from an AD converter, "1" appearing in a bit position nearest to the most significant digit (MSD) is detected, and the parallel digital signal is converted into a serial digital signal consisting of a weight character indicating this specific bit position and a data character indicating the numerical value of the data. Further, a weight bit is provided for changing the weight of the output of the AD converter depending on the analog quantity subjected to AD conversion so as to reduce the number of bits required for coding the parallel signal.

  • Patent number: 3984737
Abstract: Protection of an electric power system is attained under control of a digital computer. Voltage and current of the electric power system to be protected are subjected to sampling at a predetermined sampling frequency and are applied to the computer after being converted into digital signals. The computer computes the product of these two digital signal inputs. The signal thus obtained is added to a preceding signal representing the product of voltage and current taken at time before a predetermined period of time so that unnecessary frequency components included in these signals can be removed. Then, the level of the resultant signal (which is free from the unnecessary frequency components) is compared with the level of a reference signal. When the former is greater than the latter, there is a fault in the electric power system, and necessary protective measures are taken to protect the electric power system.
