    Abstract: An electrical connector 10 has electrical contacts 30a, 30b arranged in cavities 40a, 40b of a housing 50. Electrical contacts 30a, 30b include contact sections 31 and termination sections 32a, 32b having plate sections 36 oriented perpendicular to a surface of the contact sections 31 and soldering termination members 37. When electrical contacts 30a, 30b are placed in the housing 50, a rear portion 34 of the contact section 31 can be bent due to the fact that cut-outs 47a, 47b corresponding to the rear portion 34 are provided in the inside walls of cavities 40a, 40b, thus allowing for elastic deformation of the rear portion 34. In addition, plate sections 36 have lugs 38 accommodated in grooves 55 formed in the housing 50. Because of resilience of the rear sections 34, the lugs 38 engage against bottom surfaces 56 of the grooves 55, thus determining the position of the soldering termination members 37.

    Abstract: The card edge connector (1) has frames (2) facing each other. Partition (14) is secured by means of lances (60) retained by protrusions made in the main body (16). By inserting partition (14), one can obtain cavities (28) formed on both sides of the partition for accommodating thin cards. By removing partition (14) one can obtain a single cavity (29), thus cavities (28) can be combined to accommodate thick cards. Connector (1) further includes ejecting devices mounted on the frames (2) for ejecting the cards.

    Abstract: A latching device (10) for a card edge connector (30) and auxiliary board (60) having a first arm (12) and a second arm (14), wherein the second arm includes a latching unit (20) and a latching release unit (26), when the latching device (10) is inserted into a receptacle compartment (46) in the connector (30), the first arm (12) is biased toward the second arm for fixing the latching device (10) in the receptacle compartment. The latching unit (20) includes round shoulders (22, 24) which are provided to fit into round recesses (62) of an auxiliary board (60). A directed pressure (A, B, C) placed on the release unit (26) causes the latching unit (20) to rotate away from an area in card edge connector (30) where an auxiliary board is disposed.

    Abstract: The shielded electrical connector (10) has an insulating housing (20), a metal shell (30) and a pair of fasteners (40). The metal shell (30) has resilient fastening legs (33). The fastener (40) has a main leg (41) with resilient arms (42) at its end, which is inserted and retained in the opening (26) of the insulating housing (20). The auxiliary leg (45) is made at a right angle relative to the main leg and has a latching protrusion (46) on its outer surface which becomes engaged with the resilient fastening leg (33) of the metal shell (30). The resilient arms (42) of the fastener (40) are inserted into a through-hole of the printed circuit board, thus achieving the attachment of the electrical connector (10) to the board, while the connection to the grounding layer is performed by means of soldering.

    Abstract: A high density electrical connector includes an insulating housing having contacts arranged in rows to engage the contacts of a mating connector, or first printed circuit board, with the contacts having ends extending in freestanding relationship relative to the housing and including a guide member having beveled surfaces to guide the free ends of the contacts into alignment with holes of a second printed circuit board to facilitate mounting of the connector housing and contacts on the second printed circuit board. Embodiments include a guide member which divide at least one row of contacts into two rows and a guide member which guide four rows of contacts into rows of holes in the printed circuit board. The invention contemplates particularly right angle connectors having contacts wherein the freestanding ends are on slightly different centers.

    Abstract: A shielded electrical connector (1) comprises an insulating housing (40) having electrical contacts (45) secured therein to which are to be electrically connected insulated electrical conductors (73) of a shielded electrical cable (7). A shielding member (20) is mounted on the housing (40) covering the electrical contacts and electrically connectable to the shield (72) of cable (7). An insulating cover (10) is mounted on the shielding member (20) and has metal latching members (3) secured in respective sides thereof and they include latching sections (31) for latching engagement with latching sections of a complementary electrical connector when the connectors are connected together. An operator engages only the insulating cover (10) when connecting the shielded connector to the complementary connector and disconnecting it therefrom so as not to transmit static electrical charges from the person to the electrical conductors and connections.

    Abstract: An electrical connector for use in establishing electrical connections to the conductors of a flat cable comprises a first housing member carrying a plurality of terminals each having arms having opposed edges defining a conductor-receiving slot and having pointed extremities for piercing the insulating material of the cable, and a second housing member having a plurality of holes to receive the arms of a respective one of the terminals. The arms of the conductor-receiving portion of each terminal are formed adjacent their free ends with outwardly directed projections which are an interference fit in the associated hole in the second housing member, each arm of each terminal in use engaging the second housing member not only at the projection on the arm but also at a second position adjacent the engagement between the arm and a conductor of the cable received in the slot partially defined by the arm.
