  • Patent number: 5866668
Abstract: An object of the invention is to provide a heat curable composition having both of an excellent storage stability and low-temperature curability. The heat curable composition of this invention comprises (A) a polyisocyanate compound and an urethane prepolymer having a terminal active isocyanate group which is prepared by reacting a polyol component with an excess amount of a polyisocyanate compound, which are used each alone or in a combination threof; and (B) a fine particles-coated amine which is prepared by coating an active amino group on the surface of a solid amine having a melting point of .gtoreq.50.degree. C. and a mean particle size of .ltoreq.20 .mu.m with fine particles having a mean particle size of .ltoreq.2 .mu.m in a ratio of the solid amine/the fine particles of 1/0.001 to 0.5 by weight.

  • Patent number: 5767197
Abstract: A moisture curable polymer composition, which comprises (A) a polymer having at least two functional groups reactive with an isocyanate group selected from a hydroxyl group, a mercapto group and a mono-substituted or unsubstituted amino group and further at least two hydrolyzable silyl groups in the molecule, wherein the silyl groups are introduced via a urethane bond or urea bond to the functional groups, and (B) fine particles of an acrylic copolymer produced by copolymerizing an acrylic monomer having one polymerizable unsaturated group and an acrylic monomer having two or more (meth)acryloyloxy groups, wherein the fine particles of an acrylic copolymer (B) are homogeneously dispersed in the polymer (A), and a process for the production thereof. Said moisture curable polymer composition is able to give a rubber-like cured product having excellent mechanical properties, high elasticity, high toughness and excellent adhesiveness and is useful as a coating material, sealant, or adhesive.

  • Patent number: 5194502
Abstract: A one-pack epoxy structural adhesive for automobile which comprises 100 parts by weight of a mixture of a bisphenol epoxy resin and either one or both of an urethane-modified epoxy resin and an acrylonitrile/butadiene-modified epoxy resin as an epoxy resin component, 10 to 300 parts by weight of a polyester resin having carboxyl group at its termini, and 0.1 to 30 parts by weight of a latent curing agent. The adhesive of the present invention can be used as a structural adhesive for the weld bonding method in the structural parts of automobile wherein the adhesive shows an excellent shower resistance and the overflow of the adhesive can easily be wiped off. The adhesive of the present invention can easily be bead-applied at a temperature of around 40.degree. C., and hence, is suited for use in the assembly or bonding of car body.
