  • Patent number: 10622027
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a magnetic storage device that comprises a housing having a base and a cover. The base includes a bottom portion and side portions that define an interior cavity for maintaining magnetic disks. The side portions form a top surface configured to receive the cover. The magnetic storage device also includes a continuous gasket disposed between the cover and the top surface. The continuous gasket is formed with at least a first region having a first cross-sectional profile, and a second region having a second cross-sectional profile. The magnetic storage device also includes an adhesive disposed between the continuous gasket and the top surface and configured to bond the continuous gasket to the base.

  • Patent number: 9786330
Abstract: Described herein is a system that includes a hard disk drive. The hard disk drive includes a base and a cover welded to the base by a weld bead. The base and the cover form a hermetically sealed housing. The system further includes a shield, coupled to an exterior of the hermetically sealed housing over the weld bead. The shield also is spaced-apart from the weld bead.

  • Patent number: 7885019
Abstract: A lens drive device has (i) an objective lens and (ii) a lens holder, to a side face of which coils for drive control are attached. The surface where the coils are adhered, or the side surface, is an irregular surface where a recess/projection section for restricting the direction of flow of an adhesive is formed. The coils and the lens holder are integrally formed together by the adhesive with the recess/projection section in between.

  • Patent number: 7461390
Abstract: A stopper 30 includes a projected portion 35 for restricting movement of a movable section in a focusing direction and a wall section 34 for restricting movement of the movable section in a tracking direction, the projected portion 35 and the wall section 34 being integrally formed from a synthetic resin. With the arrangement, a single stopper 30 can simultaneously restrict the movements of the movable section both in the focusing direction and the tracking direction and determine its movable ranges. Accordingly, unlike conventional arrangements, discrete stoppers for the focusing direction and the tracking direction do not have to be provided, thereby reducing the number of components and cost as well as facilitating mounting operation. In addition, even when a strong impact is applied, the stopper will not be deformed.
