  • Patent number: 8867834
Abstract: An image processing device has an image input part to which a frame image of an imaging area taken with an infrared camera is input, a background model storage part in which a background model is stored with respect to each pixel of the frame image input to the image input part, a frequency of a pixel value of the pixel being modeled in the background model, a background difference image generator that determines whether each pixel of the frame image input to the image input part is a foreground pixel or a background pixel using the background model of the pixel, which is stored in the background model storage part, and generates a background difference image, and a threshold setting part.

  • Publication number: 20020130468
Abstract: A cylinder head gasket includes a pair of first and second outer plates 2, 3 and an inner plate 4 disposed therebetween. The inner plate 4 is formed with containment openings H1 to H10 at given positions therein for receiving sensors S1 to S10. The both outer plates 2, 3 are formed with projections P1 to P10 which project toward the sensor, thus allowing an urging force from a cylinder head or cylinder block to be transmitted to the sensors S1 to S10 through the projections P1 to P10. There can be provided a cylinder head gasket having a sealability comparable to that of a cylinder head gasket not internally housing a sensor while reducing a cost required for parts other than the sensor to be reduced in comparison to the prior art.

  • Patent number: 5755447
Abstract: The invention is directed to a metal gasket for sealing a clearance between a pair of clamping members. The metal gasket is formed of a metallic base plate on which at least one opening is defined. An annular metallic shim is welded on the base plate around the opening thereof. The annular metallic shim is disposed around the opening, and welded on the base plate by spot welding, forming a plurality of nuggets in series around the shim in such a manner that two adjacent nuggets overlaps each other and a space between those two nuggets is smaller than a diameter of each nugget.

  • Patent number: 5472217
Abstract: The invention is directed to an arrangement for sealing a clearance between a cylinder head and a cylinder block of an engine with a metal gasket clamped therebetween. The metal gasket is formed of a metallic base plate which has a plurarity of openings and beads formed therearound. The base plate may include annular shims welded on the base plate around the openings and a resilient sealing member deposited on the base plate surrounding the openings. The gasket may be disposed in such a manner as to place tip ends of the beads toward the cylinder block which causes a smaller displacement relative to the beads in comparison with the cylinder head. The resilient sealing member may be arranged to have a section of different dimension between a portion located at a side facing the beads and other portion at the opposite side thereof, or between a portion located at a junction where two of the beads meet and other portion.

  • Patent number: 5431418
Abstract: A metal gasket having first and second base plates made of metal. In each base plate, at least an opening is defined and a bead is formed around the opening. The second base plate is disposed in parallel with the first base plate with the tip ends of the beads of the first and second base plates facing each other. An annular metallic shim is secured to the first base plate at the side of the bead between the inner periphery of the bead and the opening. And, a resilient sealing member is deposited on the second base plate at the side of the bead around the outer periphery of the bead. A non-vulcanized coating layer of fluoro rubber containing no vulcanizing agent may be deposited on the entire surface of the second base plate at the side of the bead. A vulcanized fluoro rubber may be deposited on the non-vulcanized coating layer at the side of the bead around the outer periphery of the bead.

  • Patent number: 4597677
Abstract: A leaf-type foil thrust bearing, such as may be employed in a high-speed, light-load application, particularly, as a thrust bearing for a turbo charger, having a significantly reduced manufacturing cost. A plurality of recesses are formed in a thrust surface of a seat member disposed opposite the bearing surface of a rotating bearing member. The recesses gradually become shallower from their forward edges to the rearward edges in the direction of rotation of the rotating members. Corrugated foils are disposed in each of the recesses, with the corrugation height of each of the foils being constant. Top foils cover the respective corrugated foils, and each of the top foils has a forward edge attached to the thrust surface adjacent the forward edges of each of the recesses.
