  • Patent number: 10465594
Abstract: A cooling control device includes a switching valve, coolant transporting units, an electric motor, a function determination unit, and a first controller. The switching valve has coolant outlets through which a coolant flows. The coolant transporting units are disposed in contact with the switching valve and connected to or shut off from the coolant outlets. The electric motor switches between connecting and shutting off the coolant outlets and the coolant transporting units by operation of the switching valve. The function determination unit detects decrease in an operating function of the switching valve. The first controller sets an amount of current applied to the electric motor to operate the switching valve after the operating function of the switching valve is determined to be decreased, to be larger than an amount of current applied to the electric motor to operate the switching valve when the switching valve operating function is not decreased.

  • Patent number: 10221753
Abstract: A vehicle includes a radiator, a bypass passage, a first valve, a second valve, and a controller. Cooling water is circulated through the radiator independently of a cylinder block and a cylinder head of an engine. The radiator cools the cooling water. The cooling water is circulated through the bypass passage while bypassing the radiator. The first valve switches between an open state in which cooling water is circulated through the cylinder block and a closed state in which cooling water is not circulated through the cylinder block. The second valve receives cooling water circulated through the cylinder head and cooling water circulated through the cylinder block via the first valve. The second valve uses an intermediate opening to adjust a flow rate of cooling water circulated through the radiator and the bypass passage. The controller controls opening and closing of the first valve and the opening of the second valve.

  • Patent number: 9810136
Abstract: A coolant-control valve that performs initialization learning using a stopper and provides an efficient structure by an initialization learning stopper within an actuator which drives a valve body. The coolant-control valve is equipped with a rotor driven to control a flow rate of coolant for cooling an engine, a casing that houses the rotor, and a rotary drive device that drives the rotor. Control means of the rotary drive device have an initialization learning function of an operating range of the rotor. The rotary drive device is equipped with a motor and a reduction gear. The operating range of the rotor is restricted by the operating range of an output gear among power transmission elements in the reduction gear. A groove of the output gear and a fixed-angle stopper inserted into the groove are restricting means for use during initialization learning by the control means.

  • Patent number: 9650943
Abstract: A rotary valve that includes a rotor and a casing which rotatably accommodates the rotor. The casing includes an inflow side opening through which a fluid flows in from the outside to the rotor accommodating space and two outflow side openings through which the fluid flows out from the rotor accommodating space to the outside, at a position opposite to an outer circumferential surface of the rotor. The rotor is formed in a cylindrical shape having an internal space. An end surface of the rotor is provided with an end surface side opening which communicates with the internal space. The outer circumferential surface of the rotor is provided with a rotor outer circumferential opening and a rotor outer circumferential blocking surface which are configured to open and close the outflow side openings of the casing.

  • Patent number: 9567894
Abstract: A rotary valve that includes a rotor, and a casing including a rotor accommodating space that accommodates the rotor. A rotor opening which is a passage of cooling water is provided in the rotor. Openings which communicate with the rotor opening are provided at positions of an inner circumferential surface of the rotor accommodating space which oppose an outer circumferential surface of the rotor. Seal members are provided to extend from the openings toward the rotor. A tip end abutting portion of the seal member which abuts on the rotor includes an inwardly curved portion. The inwardly curved portion functions as a seal and also functions as a spring. The inwardly curved portion is narrowed inwardly toward a tip end side, and is curved to be folded back.
