That is, it provides 3-amino-1-indanol represented by the formula (I), a process for synthesizing it, an enantiomerically active compound of 3-amino-1-indanol and a process for enantiomerically resolving 3-amino-1-indanol, and a separating agent for enantiomeric isomers comprising enantiomerically active compound thereof as an effective ingredient.

Abstract: A hydraulic device for interposition between an outboard propulsion device and a watercraft transom for controlling the trim position of the propulsion device, for permitting the propulsion device to pop up when an underwater obstacle is struck and to return to the trim adjusted position and also including a bypass valve for permitting manual tilt up of the propulsion device without fluid restriction.

Abstract: Two embodiments of concentric tilt and trim cylinder arrangements for machine propulsion units for achieving trim and tilt-up operation. Each embodiment includes an arrangement that permits the outboard drive to pop up when an underwater obstacle is struck, but which preclude popping up operation when operating in reverse. In addition, one embodiment incorporates an arrangement for ensuring against inadvertent trim up when trim down is being called for.
