  • Patent number: 8337349
Abstract: The invention provides a power transmission belt which is superior in oil resistance so that it is swollen to only a reduced degree, reduced in hardness, and small in abrasion if the rubber layers are stained with oil while the belt is being used in an oil-present environment. Such a power transmission belt has rubber layers which comprise a compression rubber layer and an adhesion rubber layer both of which are vulcanized and bonded to each other and load carrying cords are embedded in the adhesion rubber layer, wherein at least the compression rubber layer between the two rubber layers is formed of vulcanizate obtained by vulcanizing ethylene-?-olefin-diene rubber with an organic peroxide and a trifunctional co-crosslinking agent.

  • Publication number: 20110031087
Abstract: [Problem] In a clutch mechanism using magnetic force, the problem is to avoid early damage to the rubber layer in contact with a rotating member without impairing the power transmission interrupting function of the mechanism. [Solving Means] A flat belt includes a tension-resistant layer 2, in which a core cord 2a is spirally wound, an upper holding rubber layer 3, a lower holding rubber layer 4, an upper rubber layer 5, and a lower rubber layer 6. The holding rubber layers 3 and 4 are laid on the upper and lower sides of the tension-resistant layer 2 respectively, retaining the layer 2. The upper and lower rubber layers 5 and 6 are laid on the upper side of the upper holding rubber layer 3 and the lower side of the lower holding rubber layer 4 respectively. 150-300 parts by weight of ferrite for 100 parts by weight of rubber matrix are mixed in the upper rubber layer 5, which is on the outer peripheral side of the flat belt when the belt is wound on a guide wheel.

  • Patent number: 6056656
Abstract: A V-ribbed belt A is made up of a compression rubber 3, an adhesion rubber 1 laminated to the upper surface of the compression rubber 3, and a plurality of tension members 2 fixed by rubber of the adhesion rubber 1 to be held in place in the adhesion rubber 1 and arranged in the direction of the length of the belt. The upper surface of the adhesion rubber 1 is covered with a covering fabric-rubber composite B. All the rubber sections of the composite B are composed of a rubber compound formed by incorporating 5 to 15 phr of an adhesive prepared by mixing resorcinol or denatured resorcinol with a methylene donor, into H-NBR. The adhesion rubber 1 and the compression rubber 3 are composed of a rubber compound whose principal components are ACSM and carbon for achieving good belt back-face drive in high-temperature environment.

  • Patent number: 6004238
Abstract: In a V-ribbed belt including short fibers such as carbon fibers in the surfaces of ribs, that is, a contact surface with a pulley, the surfaces of the ribs are coated with a water repellent agent so that the surfaces of the ribs can attain water repellency. Thus, while suppressing performance degradation and increase in manufacturing cost of the belt, the water removing property against water splashed on the belt is improved, so as to prevent slip and an accompanied unpleasant noise from being caused.
