  • Patent number: 6318131
Abstract: A three-dimensional shape fabric is knitted by the method in which after a setup portion of the three-dimensional shape fabric is formed by use of needles of the both front and back needle beds, a non-rectangular front fabric and a non-rectangular back fabric are knitted by performing a flechage knitting in which a first part of the front fabric and a first part of the back fabric are varied in number of courses from one wale to another so as to put a part of loops into a rested state in the process in which the front fabric knitted in association with the front needle bed and the back fabric knitted in association with the back needle bed are knitted in parallel to each other by use of different cam systems and then loops of the next parts following the forming of loops of final courses of the previously formed parts including the part of the loops as were put in the rested state are formed to join the parts to each other, the knitting process of which is repeated performed, and the loops of the final course

  • Patent number: 5943884
Abstract: On needle beds, an outer fabric and an inner fabric are arranged to oppose each other. Each of the outer fabric and the inner fabric comprises a back body and a left half and a right half of the front body that are arranged on both sides of the back body. The inner fabric and the outer fabric are knitted in a single tubular form from the hem part up to the bottom of armhole. At and beyond the bottom of armhole, it is divided and knitted into three tubular forms; the back body, the right half of the front body, and the left half of the front body. Armholes are provided between tubular forms. At the shoulders, the three tubular forms are united back to one single tubular form, and the back body and the right and left halves of the front body of the outer fabric are joined, and similarly, the back body and the right and left halves of the front body of the inner fabric are joined.

  • Patent number: 5452592
Abstract: In knitting a knit fabric, knitting needles in a range corresponding with a desired knitting width for the fabric are fed with a draw yarn to form a course of stitches from the draw yarn. The knitting needles may be taken from a pair of needle beds which are sometimes referred to as the front bed and the rear bed. All or part of the knitting needles used for knitting the draw yarn are next fed with a knitting yarn and a course of stitches form from the knitting yarn. Thereafter, knitting needles from the front and rear needle beds in the range corresponding with the desired knitting width are fed with the knitting yarn and the initial portion of the fabric is knitted. Subsequently, knitting needles from either the front or rear needle beds are fed with knitting yarn and thereafter knitting needles from another needle bed are fed with knitting yarn to knit plan tubular stitches until the fabric is completed. The draw yarn is drawn out of the fabric after completion of the knitting.
