  • Patent number: 7405673
Abstract: When a connector of a power cord is connected to an inlet of a printer, an RFID reader of the printer acquires rating information of the power cord by reading the rating information from an RFID-IC of the power cord. Then, a controller of the printer judges whether the rating of the power cord conforms to the rating of the printer based on the rating information of the power cord and rating information of the printer. If it is judged that the rating of the power cord does not conform to the rating of the printer, the controller sets the printer to a sleep mode, in which the printer is operated with a current value within the rating range of the power cord, and also causes relevant parts of the printer such as an alarm generator to issue an alert/alarm to the operator.

  • Patent number: 6876372
Abstract: In order to expose a required exposed line for which an exposing deviation caused by a fixing accuracy of an exposing head is corrected, when exposing images by dynamic lighting control, an image forming apparatus comprises a exposing head 24 having a plurality of arrayed illuminants aligned in the main scanning direction wherein, when an image bearing body moving in the auxiliary direction at a predetermined scanning speed is exposed to form an image by controlling dynamically to light arrayed illuminants according to image data, a detector for a position of a print head 17 detects a deviation from a predetermined standard fixing point generating a deviating position detecting signal. A memory control circuit 14 selects as an exposing data from image data of the k?1 (k is an integer greater than 1) precedent line to image data of the current line based on a correcting value determined in accordance with a deviation denoted by the position-detecting signal.

  • Patent number: 5684933
Abstract: According to the invention, video data which are incapable of sufficiently reducing toner consumption through thinning-down control inclusive of edge detection, is divided into unit elements to increase the apparent dot matrix number of each letter or character, and the unit elements thus obtained are reconstituted through an image smoothing process or a pseudo image density increasing process for thinning-down control again. When a pixel is divided into four divisions, for instance, substantially the same effect as of thinning-down control of a letter of apparently four times the size is obtainable. Dense thinning-down control is thus obtainable.

  • Patent number: 4907084
Abstract: An image scanner for reading images from an original document or the like less susceptible to induced noise. An image output signal from a CCD sensor is sampled and held and the black level of the resulting signal is adjusted to a desired value. The black-level-adjusted signal is converted to digital form and transmitted to an external utilization unit after its timing has been properly adjusted.
