  • Patent number: 11735078
Abstract: There is provided a control device, a control method, a control program, and a control system that are capable of presenting a VR experience with a high sense of immersion using a tiling display. The control device acquires arrangement of displays in a tiling display in which a plurality of displays is tiled, acquires a light-emitting characteristic of each of the displays, tracks a position and a line-of-sight direction of a user with respect to the tiling display, and adjusts a luminance value of each of the displays on the basis of the light-emitting characteristic and a tracking result by the tracking such that brightness of the displays viewed from the user becomes continuous through a boundary of the displays.

  • Patent number: 11388378
Abstract: An image processing apparatus, an image processing method, and a projection system are provided. The image processing apparatus according to one embodiment includes a calculating section which, on the basis of a positional relationship between a viewpoint position set in front of a curved display surface and a virtual surface set behind the display surface, calculates the positions of respective pixels on the display surface, the pixels being included in a planar image generated on the assumption that the planar image is displayed on a plane, and displays the planar image on the display surface such that the respective pixels are displayed at the calculated positions.

  • Publication number: 20210065659
Abstract: The present technology relates to an image processing apparatus, an image processing method, a program, and a projection system that can prevent a sense of realism and immersion from being impaired even in a case where a planar image generated on the assumption that the planar image is to be displayed on a flat surface is displayed on a curved display surface. An image processing apparatus according to an embodiment of the present technology causes a planar image and an effect image to be displayed on a curved display surface such that an image representing a predetermined space is displayed as the effect image around the planar image, the planar image having been generated on the assumption that the planar image is to be displayed on a flat surface. The present technology can be applied to a computer that causes a plurality of projectors to project a video.

  • Patent number: 10872434
Abstract: Provided is an image processing apparatus and a method to improve the robustness of posture estimation during viewing of contents with respect to a projected image. Similarity between a captured image obtained by imaging a projected image by an imaging unit, the projected image having been projected by a projection unit, and a simulation image simulating a captured image supposed to be obtained by imaging a projected image by the imaging unit, the projected image having been projected by the projection unit, is evaluated, and a posture of the projection unit or the imaging unit or postures of both of the projection unit and the imaging unit on the basis of an evaluation result of the similarity are set.

  • Publication number: 20200366876
Abstract: The present technology relates to an image processing apparatus, an image processing method, a program, and a projection system which make it possible to reduce a necessary space in the case where the content of a planar image generated on the assumption that the planar image is displayed on a plane is provided in such a manner that a sense of realism and a sense of immersion can be obtained. An image processing apparatus according to one embodiment of the present technology includes a calculating section which, on the basis of a positional relationship between a viewpoint position set in front of a curved display surface and a virtual surface set behind the display surface, calculates the positions of respective pixels on the display surface, the pixels being included in a planar image generated on the assumption that the planar image is displayed on a plane, and displays the planar image on the display surface such that the respective pixels are displayed at the calculated positions.
